My first half marathon: 1:45:26. 🏅
Here are 7 things that helped me get there:

1. Capitol steps
Hills, lunges, burpees, bear crawls, and stairs. Pushing myself when it got uncomfortable.

2. @motionpacers
Run with people who motivate you and remind you what you’re capable of. Having a family to celebrate with—and fight for when you feel like you have nothing left—makes a difference. We have fun that’s all that matters.

3. Track days
400s, 600s, 800s, mile repeats, and tempo runs. Practicing faster paces, finding my rhythm, and learning to stay composed when the effort got tough.

4. Long runs
Distance over speed. We chose challenging routes with hills and elevation gain, keeping the pace slower while building strength and endurance. Staying disciplined through those climbs taught me to keep pushing into the next mile, even when it got tough. Set the pace. Stay in motion.

5. Gym
Leg workouts, core, strength, and mobility. Putting in work beyond the miles.

6. Food and hydration
Fueling my body, carb-loading before race day, and staying hydrated. Preparing for the work I was asking my body to do.

7. My favorite: God 🙏🏾
Praying even during my runs. Staying grateful that I’m able to move, take my body to new levels, and encourage someone else to believe they can do it too.

Every step had a purpose. All glory to God.
