Under the lights at Domino Park, Paul Zimet embodied Cadmus in Isa Spector’s Dionysus at the Equinox, presented as part of the Sugar Sugar Festival.

Inspired by Euripides’ The Bacchae, Isa Spector’s larger-than-life adaptation weaves live music, ecstatic dance, and absurd humor into a theatrical ritual unlike any other.

Written, choreographed, and directed by Isa Spector (@isaaaspector)
Music direction by Ben Shirken (@ex.wiish) with Matt Bent (@m_a_t_t_b_e_n_t) and Kevin Eichenberger (@two_enchanted_hammers ).
Costumes by Max Lillian (@maxlillian1111).

Featuring Celine Abdallah (@celine_abdallah), Isabelle Dayton (@i_dayton), Lena Engelstein (@lenaengelstein), Benin Gardner (@35__rhums), Aimee Grumbach (@vvv_aimee), Gus Mahoney (@themagicschool.gus), Joel Watson (@woel_jatson), Jack Whitescarver, and Paul Zimet (@talkingband, @plzimet).

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us this season for Triplicity and The Door Slams, A Glass Trembles. Whether you came to one show or many, for 52 years, you have been at the heart of why we do this work. Your living presence completes the process of creating these pieces, reminding us that the stories we work hard to make — and find so much joy in creating — are also meaningful to you. We’re deeply grateful for a wonderful season and excited to share what’s next.

A big shout out to @lamamaetc and @maboumines! Thank you for making it happen.
