A small thank you post for the 48 coaches that supported our players at the Basketball Victoria Country Jamboree this past weekend in Echuca. From state team coaches, to rookies, everyone played a part in lifting each other up to ensure a great experience for all that came.

Many of the coaches take leave from work, time away from family and friends all to give the kids an amazing experience, whilst travelling hundreds of kilometres to even get there and home.

This event wouldn’t be the same without the care, compassion and thirst for improvement from all of the coaches, who have late night and early morning meetings, development sessions, trainings and games, and self reflection to be the best they can be.

The Coach PD sessions are only as valuable as coaches make them, and they led from the front. This tournament has a soul to it, and they all gave a part of themselves to make it as amazing as it can be. taken in Echuca, Victoria by @talkingsplit

In this pod they discuss how to make sure the love of the game and the relationship stays as strong as possible for everyone involved, with practical advice on how to make sure everyone has the best outcome by knowing what to say, and how to walk back anything that may have caused harm.

This is part of a broader study that Will is working on, trying to better understand how coaches conceptualise success at the level they're coaching at.

Sometimes repetition can be frustrating, sometimes it’s simply part of the process, and sometimes it can feel like you’re saying the same things over and over again.

In Part 1 of this episode, the @talkingsplit crew unpack some of the areas where repetition comes into play, and how coaches can work towards progression rather than simply repeating the same things.

Part 2 is coming soon, so if there’s anything they haven’t covered, let them know!
