POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
We’ve got our first 5 regular donors! šŸ„³šŸ’› And I’d love to make that 10 before the end of October!

That’s 5 more people getting behind Liminal Rhythm Trust and helping us support waĢ„hine beyond survival ✨

I get to see what this kaupapa means to the waĢ„hine who join us — the connections, the laughter, the growing belief in themselves and what’s possible. It’s pretty special, and I’m excited to keep growing it.

Could you be one of our next 5? Regular giving, whatever the amount, helps us keep creating these opportunities.

And if a regular commitment doesn’t work for you, any one-off koha would be gratefully received too šŸ«¶šŸ½

Link’s in my bio and I’ll share it in my story. Come be part of what we’re building šŸ’ƒšŸ½ by @tamara_waugh

Since March ā€˜26 my dear friends @changingmindsnz have been doing what they do best - working with national MH agencies to bring a lived experience lens to innovation and services, this time supporting Whakarongorau on a journey to building a new kind of Yellow Pages to our taĢ„nagata whaiora (people seeking wellness).

#GoodPlaceToStart is an AI assisted navigation tool that suggests, through compassionate inquiry, pathways to services in your local area, suited to your needs. Due for public launch at the end of November ā€˜26.

This is a tool that we in the CPSLE / system change sector of mental health have been advocating for, for many years, certainly since the last national strategy that I, and Changing Minds attended 23 of the 27 community hui to ensure this, out of many other quality improvement suggestions got a look in for funding. Just as we did influence bringing in HIP (Health improvement practitioners) to primary health (GP) services.

I love it when a plan comes together, after years of backstory and national consultation, co-design and review, finally we are a month away from another big tick on the list of very slow moving improvements / change we need to make for our Tu tumu waiora!

Proud to Te kawe i te tirohanga a ngā purapura ora o te tūkino ā-kore (representing the lens of survivors of sexual harm).

I’m looking for another crusader to walk alongside me.

After our recent LRT fundraising show, someone described me as a ā€œcrusader.ā€ That word stayed with me because building Liminal Rhythm Trust has required courage, persistence and a willingness to pioneer.

I’ve worn many hats and carried responsibilities across multiple roles to bring LRT this far. But as we grow, that is no longer sustainable—for me or for the organisation.

It’s time to strengthen our governance team. We’re seeking:

✨ A Chairperson who can lead with empathy, integrity and vision.

✨ A Board Secretary who can bring clarity, organisation and momentum.

Experience is valuable, but we’re also looking for people who embody a growth mindset—innovative, forward-thinking people who are driven to pioneer and excited by what LRT can become.

We need people who believe survivors deserve more than simply surviving—and who are ready to help us create lasting change.

Could that be you or someone you know? Contact for your more info: liminalrhythmtrust@gmail.com

Expressions of interest close: Friday 30th October

Feeling excited and hopeful after joining today’s launch of the Consumer, Peer Support and Lived Experience Workforce Strategy and Action Plan 2026–2031. 🌿

One phrase really stayed with me: moving from inclusion to integration.

Lived experience belongs wherever decisions are made — shaping services, leading organisations, designing solutions and evaluating what makes a difference.

This aligns so closely with why we’re building @liminal.rhythm.trust: a survivor-led charity supporting waĢ„hine beyond survival, where lived experience informs our approach, our programmes and our vision for the future.

It was encouraging to hear the focus on fair pay, sustainable resourcing, reflective practice and pathways into leadership. Those doing this mahi deserve support to thrive too.

And the conversation about ethical AI felt especially relevant to our work developing Milwaka — bringing survivor perspectives into how technology is designed, governed and used.

There is so much possibility in this next chapter. I’m excited for LRT to contribute, learn and grow alongside this workforce. šŸ’›

We’re still taking in what happened this weekend.

Party Conversations was brave, confronting, tender, funny, uncomfortable - and deeply human.

People told us the show helped them begin conversations they hadn’t known how to have, see the impacts of sexual harm differently, and understand what can happen when we stop turning away and sit together in the truth.

There aren’t many photos because we didn’t have a professional photographer. Our focus was on the people in the room - making sure they felt safe, supported and able to respond without feeling watched or documented. Some moments aren’t meant to become content. They’re meant to be felt.

We’re so deeply grateful to Sheree Veysey for trusting us with her work; to our amazing director, beautiful cast, crew, speakers, musicians and volunteers; Te Pou Theatre; our support organisations, therapists and rongoaĢ„ practitioners; and every sponsor, partner, ticket buyer, donor and person who shared the event.

You made this possible.

And we don’t want Party Conversations to end here.

We want to take this project into high schools and universities—using theatre to open supported, age-appropriate conversations with rangatahi and young adults about sexual harm, consent, relationships and everything we so often leave unsaid.

If you have connections within a school, university, funding body or organisation—or could help fund, sponsor or support a future tour—please get in touch with us. Let’s make this happen.

Because while the curtain closed on Party Conversations, the work is only beginning.

Last night, our first @liminal.rhythm.trust EmpowerME cohort began their eight-week journey together—towards connection, growth and discovering what can exist beyond survival.

What a privilege it is to do this mahi.

What a journey we have ahead of us.
