WOW! What an incredible kickoff to DOT Fun Day

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out and made our very first DOT Fun Day such a success. From the amazing vendors and food trucks to the families, friends, and community members who showed up with great energy and smiles, we appreciate you all!

DOT Fun Day is all about bringing our community together through food, fun, culture, and connection—and last Sunday was just the beginning.

I made sure to check out @chashuwoo while I was out in Worcester. My buddy Tam Le is one of the guys behind this place and he also has a hand in Lê Madeline in Quincy, another favorite of mine. Plus it was freezing outside so what better way to warm up than to sit in an Izakaya and have a hot bowl of ramen? Chashu opened in late 2020. The place is beautiful, spacious. Big dining room, long bar, open kitchen concept. And it was pretty busy in here which is always a good sign. Their menu offers a wide variety of great choices. Ramen, apps, sandwiches, sushi & much more.

Considering we had a big day of eating in Worcester, we didn’t go “too” crazy but still ate a decent amount. The brussel sprouts were just how I like them, burnt & crispy. Great bao bun. The sushi was phenomenal! That Toro Dragon Fruit Maki is a one of a kind. Very good and creative. The ramen was like none I ever had either. I don’t think I ever tased a broth that rich. Chashu is definitely a spot worth trying out. Just be sure to let em know who sent ya! Thank you to Chef Sonny & Tam for a great experience!

Had to run it back at @lemadelinerestaurant in Quincy. I came here earlier this year with Big Francis and was wowed by it! It was incredible! I came during lunch time. I got to try a rice dish, oysters, pho, them crawfish noodles & so much more. Chef @peeetahhhhh took great care of us. The pho was arguably the best I ever had but those noodles had me sent!! I knew I needed to come back before this year ended with Felicia so I can let her try. This time, we came for dinner. Their lunch menu is always available but I wanted to experience their dinner.

Peter has traveled all over the country learning more & more cooking techniques to add to his repertoire. He cooked in Houston for a few years. When he came home he partnered up with Tam Le & opened up Lê Madeline. A more modern Vietnamese joint. Peter saved us a table and took great care of us. We got our own little tasting menu. What an experience it was. I was in heaven having those crawfish noodles again. The pho was good but I like the pho I had last time. Just a classic bowl, nothing too fancy. His hummus was to die for and his Vietnamese onion soup was *oh my god*. Book yourself a table at @lemadelinerestaurant because they do fill up quick. Let Peter & the team know who sent ya!!
