Three years ago I was working four jobs. One of them was DoorDash. We were living in a basement while my husband was in school, and I was filming UGC videos in between everything else, figuring it all out on my own. No one handed me a roadmap. I googled. I guessed. I undercharged. I said yes to things I should have said no to. I learned how to price, film, and get paid the hard way, one brand at a time. Fun fact: one of those four jobs was working for Becca. We’ve known each other since high school, and she hired me to help with her business. So she had a front row seat to the very beginning, the struggle, and every step since. 1,000+ brands later, UGC is my full-time business. When Becca decided to try it herself, I helped her get started, and that’s when we realized how many people were stuck exactly where I used to be. So we built Content Creation Academy together. It’s the thing I wish existed when I was starting out, wondering if this could actually work. Most days I need to have my hair done for filming… And not only does it take time but we all know heat isn’t the best for hair (especially bleached hair) A couple years ago I went almost a year without hot tools so Let’s bring the heat less curls back :) by @tamieaton_

Wanting to get into the “be your own boss” arena? 🤍 Get in rooms with people who are doing big things- you never want to be the best in the room: you level up to the level of the people around you :) 🤍 others success is motivation and proof that you can do it too… there is more than enough to go around. Collaborate don’t compete! 🤍 constantly be learning and evolving: it’s not weak to admit you have more to learn and changes to make (it what actually makes you better- don’t get stagnant) 🤍 learn to enjoy the process: because there really is no end, and it may take longer than you expect so you might as well be happy while you do it :) What resonates with you most? Slow mornings could be my favorite part of work from home :) Cup full of @cocoringa hot cocoa (and whipped cream) cause why not?! The overhead to run a UGC business is stupidly low compared to almost any other business model 🙌 Here’s every tool in my stack and what it actually costs per year. Pro tip: pay annually where you can — most of these (including Claude) knock the price down when you commit to the year instead of paying monthly. by @tamieaton_
