Happy birthday to the bestest sis ever @anat_perlman 🥳🩷

From the time I was your annoying but super cute little sister following you around to now being lucky enough to call you one of my best friend, life has always been better and a lot more interesting with you in it.

You’re my favorite person to talk to about absolutely everything, laugh with over absolutely nothing and, of course, go wine tasting with anytime, anywhere but especially when it’s an unexpected detour and a thousand degrees out.

I love all the fun we have together, and even more than that, I love knowing you’re always there. I couldn’t have asked for a better sister.

Here’s to even more laughs, adventures, and def more wine and special cheers toyour best year yet. Love you forever and ever! 🥂❤️❤️❤️ by @tamirumble

Thank you to everyone for the birthday posts, calls, texts, and love. This birthday was a bit of a mixed bag filled with highs and lows. I felt both loved and celebrated, while also carrying the heaviness of a sudden loss of a dear friend of nearly 40 years.

I’ll share photos from the weekend another time, but today I want to take a moment to honor my friend, Michael Gabel.

Mike and I first met in junior high, but became closer in our twenties. He had the rare gift of being one of the kindest souls you’d ever meet, with just enough adorably inappropriate edge to make you want to hug him and smack him at the same time.

Through love, loss, and everything in between, Mike was there. He was one of my go-to first calls for those big life moments and he was just as good about checking in, staying connected, and making people feel remembered. Every interaction ended with some variation of the words I love you and I’m grateful for you.

To my kids, he was Uncle Mikey, and they loved him to pieces, as did I.

No matter how much life threw at him, and it threw a lot, he never lost his goodness. He loved his friends and family deeply, showed up with his whole heart, would give you the shirt off his back, and somehow make you belly laugh while doing it.

This loss is profound and I’m still processing it but I’m so grateful for his friendship, his spirit, his humor, and his kindness. He left this world better than he found it, and his memory and essence will stay with all of us who were lucky enough to know him. 💕 by @tamirumble
