Today is Travel Advisor Appreciation Day, and it felt like a good time to properly reintroduce myself here.

Hi, I’m Tammy.

I’m a former Civil & Environmental Engineer who somehow ended up in the travel industry.

Turns out, planning great travel isn’t all that different from engineering. Both require problem solving, attention to detail, logistics, budgets, timelines, and a whole lot of behind-the-scenes work.

For the last 10 years, I’ve helped clients plan everything from family vacations and milestone celebrations to luxury journeys and bucket-list adventures around the world.

I love the beautiful hotels, incredible destinations, and unforgettable experiences—but what I enjoy most is helping people make the most of their precious time together.

It’s official — I’m heading to T-Fest Chapter VII!
This October, I’ll be joining an incredible group of luxury travel professionals and partners in Riviera Maya for three days of connection, conversation and discovering what’s next in luxury travel.
One of my favorite parts of this industry is continuing to learn, build relationships and experience destinations and products firsthand—so I can bring that knowledge back to my clients and fellow advisors.
Looking forward to @tfest_event and a few very full days at Mayakoba!

And he’s off!
London is officially Home for Stanley.
We dropped him at the airport yesterday and said our goodbyes, knowing I’d be following him across the pond a day later. ❤️🙏

Of course, Travel decided to give him a little test right out of the gate. Everyone boarded, the plane pushed back…and then a mechanical issue sent them right back to the gate. He was rebooked on the next flight, arrived at Heathrow more than four hours later than planned, and then discovered only one of his two bags had made the trip with him.

Not exactly the arrival we planned. But he handled it all with ease and grace and finally made his way to his dorm. By the time we FaceTimed this morning, he was unpacking what he had, getting settled, and waiting for the second bag to be delivered to him.

He’s traveled enough to know that sometimes travel is messy. Plans change and flights get delayed. Bags go missing and you figure it out and keep going. I’m so proud of him. He is ready for this and he is going to do great!

And now it’s my turn! London bound today and thankfully, with a slightly less ambitious agenda than moving him into a dorm.

A quick recap of our days in London with Stanley this summer — when London was still a place we were visiting, celebrating his high school graduation.

And now, it’s the place he is preparing to call home.

At the time, August felt so far away. Somehow, it’s nearly here.

OUT OF OFFICE
June 23 – July 5

Scotland and England are calling.

Over the next two weeks I’ll be exploring Edinburgh, St. Andrews, Loch Lomond, Leeds, and London — traveling with my family, and doing what travel advisors do best: researching the details so I can make better recommendations for my clients.

I’ll be checking messages periodically, but responses may be slower than usual while I’m on the road.

If you’re thinking about a fall, holiday, or 2027 trip, feel free to reach out. I’ll respond as soon as I can.

And yes… there will be plenty of castles, Highland coos, and probably more photos than anyone asked for.

What a special evening with the KHS Admins, parents and special guests of these amazing Students. Stanley was honored to have Mrs Stanley by his side tonight, and to be joined by so many who guided him on this high school journey.

Cruising the Yangtze

This part of the journey was very likely my favorite. It was such a perfect time to slow down and take it all in.

Sailing through the Three Gorges was both peaceful and dramatic at the same time. One minute we’re at a sail-away deck party in Chongqing, and the next we’re gliding past towering cliffs and quiet villages.

We had some incredible moments off the ship—from morning Tai Chi on the deck to the evening shows, to the views of the Three Gorges—from the Summit, our ship and traditional wooden boat with local guide. Our journey onboard was just as memorable as the port adventures.

Hot pot lunch one day (so good), a beautiful Captain’s dinner, time in the VIP lounge, and even a little spa time—which I highly recommend. The kind of service that makes everything feel easy and restful.

We ended with a private farewell dinner and it really was the perfect way to close out this part of the trip.

Next stop: Shanghai.

Chongqing, China

We said goodbye to Xi’an after just one night—but not before standing face to face with the Terracotta Warriors. An unforgettable morning, and then… a quick flight and everything shifted.

Chongqing feels like a different world.
A city built in layers—bridges, mountains, rivers, and a skyline that completely comes alive at night.

After our Cruise Welcome dinner we walked across the bridge taking it all in, watching the lights reflect across the water and seeing Hongya Cave glowing along the cliffs—often called “caves,” but really a stunning village inspired by traditional stilt houses.

The next day brought giant pandas, a stop at Liziba Station (yes—the monorail really does pass straight through a residential building), and a traditional hot pot dinner show that was just as much a cultural experience as it was a meal.

And just like that… it was time to board our ship and begin the next chapter.
