Couldn’t resist hopping on this trend 🌼 how many points did you get? 🤪

Disclaimer: I know not all of these are a ‘crisis’ (I think a baby after 40 sounds quite wonderful) and I know many people are battling with some of these and it definitely wasn’t something they would have chosen. Happy Sunday Bun Day ✨🧈🧀 (recipe below)

A new favourite in our home (and about to become a Sunday tradition too)

Discovered by accident and now much loved by my boys - they’re super easy to make and really quick too if you’re able to get your hands on readymade dough (most grocery stores sell readymade dough - ask at their bakery section - it’s perfect for homemade bread, pizzas, mini rolls etc)

I made a whole bunch for lunchboxes this week because my kids don’t like sandwiches, wraps, pizza or even pies in their lunchboxes 😅 (I sometimes sneak in muffins but they’re technically not allowed 🤫)

🧀 EASY CHEESE ROLLS 🧀

Recipe -

All calculations are very rough - sorry - you need to measure with your heart for this one ❤️😂

Ingredients:
💛About 200g dough (around 4 handful balls)
💛A small bit of salt (a tiny spoon - less if you’re watching your salt intake, more if you like it salty)
💛A tablespoon of mustard (you can leave this out if you want and add paprika, rosemary, garlic etc instead if you want)
💛2-3 cups of cheese (add more cheese than you think you’ll need - it disappears in the dough!)
💛Flour for rolling/working with the dough

Method:
💛Put your oven on (180•)
💛Get your ingredients ready and make sure you have easy access to your flour - the dough can be super sticky
💛Add all ingredients together, adding flour as you need it (make sure all ingredients are properly combined)
💛 Knead flat (about 2cm high) on floured surface and either roll into balls or use a round cutter/object to make rounds (I decided to do two different sizes)
💛Grease and flour a baking tray and place your shaped dough on the tray
💛Pop into oven and bake for about 5-10 minutes depending on oven or until they’re golden brown on top (the cheese goes a nice golden orange colour 🤩)
💛Cool on tray or wire rack or eat them off the tray while they’re warm 🤭 (make sure they’re completely cool before storing away)

And that’s it! Super quick and easy and something filling for lunchboxes for the kids who don’t like sandwiches 😆 (ps would be nice for soups and stews too)

Guys, where do I even begin?!

I am BLOWN away by the talent at the @alphenmarket / Potter’s Market (@ceramics_western_cape). Here are a few of the treasures (ceramics and other gems) I spotted at the market - I visited twice and still didn’t have enough time to capture everything ✨

(Also, what a joy to chat to the people who made each of these amazing creations - the kindness, warmth and love for what they do was wonderful to witness).

#ThriftyThursday - everything I thrifted in January ❤️ mostly books, treasures for my boys, some goodies for @yardsale_ct (my business selling mostly children’s preloved books, games, toys and puzzles, which has been closed for a while but I’m slowly considering reopening). And of course a basket or two 😌

Someone I follow set herself a declutter challenge - get rid of 500 things in her home (that she doesn’t need or that don’t bring joy) and I feel inspired to do the same. Not quite sure I’ll manage 500 - but maybe 150 items?

Anyone else feel like they can’t stop cleaning, decluttering and organising their space? What are you doing with the goodies you are ready to part with? Are you tossing them? Donating them? Selling them? Please share your decluttering tips with me 🙏👇

✨ I thought it might be fun to give away a few things each week in my Stories - things that are in good condition - they’re just not for me anymore - and maybe they can bring someone else joy?
