In recent years artists have had to deal with intense pressure to prove their value. We are put in positions where we have to cut corners, do things we aren’t proud of, and constantly question our value in the face of automation. I started creating to express myself and share it with a like minded community. It was never about getting something done as fast as possible. I think our clients visions should be treated with the same respect. Building a brand doesn’t happen overnight, it comes from the trust you build with your audience from creating intentional work over a long period of time. Before building logos, choosing colors, typography and all supporting assets it’s essential to make sure your brand is being built on a solid foundation. In an age where there is no longer a barrier to entry in starting a brand I am seeing over and over people making these mistakes that could cost them years of work, time and money. ✍️ An amazing looking logo won’t work if it shares a common name and market as a competitor ✍️ Choosing to use certain messaging, labels and positioning can affect your ability to grow in a new direction ✍️ A unclear understanding of your target market can waste all marketing efforts if you are not connecting with the right demographic. And so on… This is why it’s important to learn in-depth about your new brand to then create designs that will be effective.
