Idk if that came across the right way, but I guess what I was getting at is life is always life-ing.

I, much less than 5 years ago when Tao Teaware started, feel like I can put 100% into any one thing.

There are too many of those things in the air that all have to work.

So for me, getting to that 100% in one thing, like setting up for tea fest, would ultimately mean dropping other things, if that makes any sense... by @taoteaware

The more people I talk with who are potters, the less self-conscious I get about this.

I was definitely embarrassed in the early years with chipping pots and feeling clumsy.

When I think of how many pots I use, test, and keep, it is a really small percentage,
but a lot of times they are my favorites because they find themselves in precarious situations,
like on a plane or out with my two kids running around.

I want to use my pots,
and I don't want to have to
worry about breaking them. by @taoteaware

What are your thoughts on supporting a company's R&D?

Definitely something I think of differently now that I own my own company.

I... probably learned from my dad... not to be an early adopter because there will be bugs, there will be problems, the costs will be high, but now I sit on the other side of having a company and think about how we couldn't be where we are today without those early adopters.

Pitchers underrated
Strainers overrated

... but there are some that we love of each on the site now.

Pitchers are all different styles depending on your fancy, while the Elven Strainer is limited to one beautiful, subtle piece of decor that remains highly functional as a strainer. by @taoteaware

The best and biggest festival of the year just got better.

Sometimes things don't always click right away.

Relationships take time,
businesses take time,
success takes time,
and that's how it should be.

If you could show up and be a pro, it wouldn't feel meaningful.

@jonathansteele.studio and I frequently talk about the grind, tweaking our businesses and models. While we are definitely finding success along this journey,
we're tired,
we still have to be creative all the time,
we wonder if this will really work...

Can we sustain ourselves off our love and people's love for teapots we are sharing?

Who knows, but man, is the journey worth it.

If we talked at Northwest Tea Fest, please comment below so we can stay in touch the rest of the year. I very awkwardly realized I know many of your names *cough cough* Hunter, but not your Instagram handle to keep up with you. by @taoteaware

A project we have been talking about for years, planning for months, and it's finally here.

Each month we will feature a new tea towel and artist from now until the end of 2027.

This is the start of something bigger for us working with artists all around the world for custom teaware.

Check out Jade's towel now. by @taoteaware
