Just a little bit of Sonrisa to help you chase those Sunday scaries away!

Sonrisa is one of our OG ESLR survivor pups and newest HQ residents who still has the happiest smile despite it all! She is 40 pounds of love and would have the most success with male dog friends larger than her (and preferably no smaller animals) in the house!

She is open and ready for love as a foster (or even a furever)! taken in San Diego, California by @tapfosters

DOG SPOTLIGHT: Meet Gizmo! Sweet Gizzy!! He was saved by @theanimalpad last year, and watching him at HQ has been pure joy. Sits, paw shakes, fetch, walks, car rides, training… this boy has worked so hard and shown what a good boy he is.

He was in foster for a while and deserves to be back in one. I love sharing these pups and helping them find homes. Sometimes all it takes is one person seeing a post to fall in love.

Gizmo is ready for the next step, and I can’t wait to see him thrive with the love he deserves. 🐾

✨ Meet Barb (aka Lou) ✨
Rescued by @theanimalpad from a 300-dog neglect case, she went from scared, skinny & covered in wounds → to zoomies, cuddles & goofy smiles 🐾💖

Now spayed, vaxxed, house + leash trained, & learning fast. She LOVES all people & dogs, weighs ~55 lbs (still filling out), and is equal parts couch potato + play buddy. Only “flaw”? Hug-jumps & a weakness for tacos 🌮😉

She’s truly the sweetest, most nurturing pup—a legend in the making. 🐶💕

As of today, it’s been 1216 days since Rey came to @theanimalpad after being hit by a car down in Tijuana and left in the parking lot of a grocery store with nowhere to go.

Like many other dogs that have come through our rescue, life has not been the kindest to Rey so it’s understandable that he takes some extra time and love to gain his trust. When you’re in his circle though, his love is unconditional.

Every day at our HQ, we’re thankful for the elite members of Club Rey who take the time out of their busy lives to always be his biggest fans, advocates and buddies to count on to care for him every single day 💚

And we couldn’t think of a better way to say THANK YOU to one of the heads of Club Rey, @cricketcoffee, especially, as she was one of TAP’s Volunteer of the Month winners for this past month and we knew she’d love nothing more than this PAWfect date with him to celebrate!

Send dogs pics, or no pics.

Do we judge if you may or may not choose your latest phone purchase based on how much storage it has to hold said dog pics? Absolutely not.

For us, every day is #nationaldogday, but you know we’ll find any excuse to celebrate a reason to post more dog pics!

Spread the word and help us find fosters for the best boys and girl at @theanimalpad’s HQ!

This is Rey Rey 💚🫶🏼

In 2023, Rey became a TAP dog after being left for dead in a grocery store parking lot—hit by a car and abandoned. His injuries were gruesome, and his trust in people was shattered. But slowly, he began letting a few kind humans in. And with time, care, and so much patience… Rey healed.

I met Rey during his board and train with @sd.dogrehab. In two days, he trusted Katie and she helped turned his life around. He started to see that people weren’t so bad. He already had a few friends but got to learn just how much he loved them. He slowly made a friend in @ianm.smith and then the list of friends began to grow.

I didn’t realize how deeply he’d impact my life. Every yard time, every play session, every walk—he greets me with joy, a smile, and a gentle kiss on the hand. He’s come so far thanks to the people he’s had in his corner, and now he’s learning just how good life can be when you’re safe and loved.

Not only does “Rey” mean king in Spanish, but “Rey Rey” (Ray Ray) is also the first nickname my dad ever gave me. It felt like fate. I knew I had to be his friend.

Now he’s ready for his next chapter—with someone he can trust and love forever.

Apply to adopt this very special boy. So everyone who loves him can cry happy tears that he found the perfect ending to his story.
