Tarleton State University Meat Science was represented well this summer with three great interns!

Senior, Reese Harpool, traveled across the state with the Texas Pork Producers Association; Recent graduate, Analise Porras, went to Georgia to intern with Claxton Poultry Farms; and graduate student, Kara Tifft, went up to Fort Worth to intern with Standard Meat Company.

The 2026 Meat Judging Team had a great day at the AMSA Southwestern Contest. Even with the weather, the team had a great week preparing at home for this contest.

The 2025 Meat Animal Evaluation Team placed 5th in the Meats Division at the National Meat Animal Evalution Contest hosted at Texas Tech University This team competed over 3 days in Market Evaluation, Breeding Evaluation, and Meat Judging. We are very proud of their hard work and dedication! It is amazing to see this team is made up of members from the 2023, 2024, and 2025 Meat Judging Team.

Tarleton State University Meat Judging Team is coming home with some record achievements from the International Contest! We are so proud to have watched this group of girls grow in and out of the cooler. Judging at 8 contest, across multiple states, and making memories in 1 vehicle, these girls have loved every second of the last 12 months.
