I really struggle with sincerity, but James doesn’t (and to prove it, there’s a box of birthday cards I’m not allowed to throw away) - it’s one of the things I love the most about him. And six months later, I’m so grateful for our big day together and all the little things he did to make it special.

I’m also really grateful I didn’t make any “second wedding” jokes at an inopportune time.

Thank god my dad approves of the groom because he did not approve of the worm.

A year ago today, James and I woke up at 5 am for our courthouse wedding. Turns out, I’d lost my ID the night before. Thank god he didn’t read into it too much and married me anyways, even though he spent the second half of the day tracking down my ID so that city hall would release our certificate.

Anyways we survived a year, so I guess he’s learned to live with the chaos. I feel very lucky. Happy anniversary to us, and party to come in 2025! by @tash_mile

After doing no research, I somehow found myself in the best city at the best writing retreat, hosted by the brilliant @karbohemia (aka: I tried to change my life by booking a ticket to France).

Collioure is known for its artists, and in the 20th century painters including Matisse and Picasso stayed at Les Templiers, which is the hotel we studied at. The hotel did - and still does - accept art in exchange for lodging. Some photos here depict the hotel’s vast art collection, which includes a Picasso ceramic (they keep it stored behind a thin glass case in our “classroom”).

I can’t wait to talk about this for the next 6 months; prepare to be sick of me. taken in Collioure by @tash_mile
