my Chaz…I don’t know how to live in this world without you. how to wake up every day knowing you’re not here anymore. what I wouldn’t do to hear your heckling boofs again, see your little excited hops again…my entire heart crossed the rainbow bridge with you that night.🤎🌈
•
while it’s a small comfort knowing that you took your last breaths at home, instead of in a scary, unfamiliar vet room, the pain of you not being here….my heart hurts so much knowing you aren’t here.

I wasn’t ready. I knew this day would come eventually, and likely be at home…just not yet. your heart was doing so good. you were doing so good.
I wasn’t ready. I’m sorry I couldn’t save you this time, my Chazbo.
•
my best friend. my number one running partner. my april fool’s baby girl. I miss you so much more than words could ever say. I love you so so much, my beautiful girl.

01 april 2009 - 31 july 2022 🤎🌈
I hope you are playing with all the orange balls and grunting hedgehog toys up there. swimming around in the water like you used to do. heckling and boofing down at me with your little triangle mouth.

if love was enough, you would have lived forever. #souldog #heartdog by @tashbryenton

canadian death race💀
44.39km / 118km

THE STORM THAT HIT THIS YEAR……HOLY HELL💀🌩️🌪️
had a slower leg 2 than I wanted, especially not being able to bomb down powerline (twisted my knee packing my drop bags the day before…of all the stupid reasons…). But even if that hadn’t done me in, my body’s inability to stay warm in colder temps/wind and rain like that…I would’ve never made it lol. I was in the storm for 1km in shorts and a windbreaker and got asked if I needed a space blanket coming into TA 300 because I was shivering so bad….and that was just the storm’s warmup before the 100km/h winds (on the ground, not even on the mountain), rain, and hail hit 😅 massive props to the runners who ran through that storm all night to finish👏🏼👏🏼

laughing with the photographer telling him that taking a photo on the last climb up to grande mountain summit was cruel (he grabbed this as he was heading down to go to his next spot)

slugfest😑
which was actually a LOT drier than it’s been in previous years (usually I end up caked in mud up to my calves)

banff elevation training run + belting out celine dion during the drive🤘🏼

📍healy pass trail
(planned to do healy pass to egypt lake but we missed the SUPER obvious marked trail to get there….and instead followed an overgrown “trail” that was sometimes there, sometimes not and led us bushwhacking through some dense wilderness and steep scrambles😅BUT we didn’t get lost) taken in Banff National Park by @tashbryenton

Sinister7 2026 was a hot one!🥵legs 1 and 2 felt really strong, hydration and fueling dialed in, until the heat suddenly completely derailed me out on leg 3….stomach stopped being able to tolerate food or water and hella nauseous, weaving on the trail, so unfortunately had to DNF at only 44.3km before the heat sidelined me even harder.

BUT….hopefully some redemption at death race in a couple weeks here (and of course already have sin7 lined up for 2027..😈) (and welcome home snuggs from the puppos always make things better)

first puppy obedience class graduate🎓🐾aka snack class, according to loki. being the best at disappearing treats is very exhausting work

his favorite part was playtime, not because he could play, but so he could make his rounds with everyone to sit like a distinguished gentleman and ask for more treats (he’s clearly starving to death and hasn’t eaten in weeks) by @tashbryenton

lokito🤍the past two months….

filled with zoomie discoveries and using the walls as brakes, turning into a stegosaurus when he plays with koda (mohawked hackles), being BFFs with his water bowl (and discovering he can make ✨waves✨ in it), countless, endless laps chasing him around the kitchen island, bicep workouts on walks when he gets lazy and wants to just sightsee, turning into a sock and shoe thief extraordinaire, and our lovely 3AM morning wake ups (because god forbid we sleep in until 4…) by @tashbryenton
