Over 400 women in the media industry gathered in NYC for my second @blackgirlsinmedia conference this past weekend. The common statement that attendees said to me at the event is “thank you for your obedience”. I have so much gratitude because of the fact that the people God called me to serve actually notice the spiritual effort and sacrifice that was made to host an event like this. Thank you to everyone who added to this vision. My amazing speakers, my right hand woman @jacthedeuce, the team who brought the vision to life with design execution @three20ex, my family and friends who travelled from NC to support me and many more I didn’t name. I can feel that this is just the beginning. Love you all!!! 🫶🏾💗💗🥹 Where to next? 👀👀

This week, I was honored alongside 5 other great women by the @lakers for their Women in Business awards with Comerica Bank. I received the Woman of Diversity award for my work and impact with my business @blackgirlsinmedia 💜💛 It feels great to receive flowers for the work that I do so passionately for Black women in the media industry. I’m here to serve others and the flowers along the way are definitely a great plus. 💐

Just wrapped orientation in New York for the @goldmansachs One Million Black Women: Black in Business program, and I’m still taking it all in.

For the next few weeks, I’ll be taking online business courses focused on growth strategy, operations, and scaling a small business. As the founder of @blackgirlsinmedia , everything I learn here goes right back into how I serve our community of media, PR, marketing, and entertainment professionals.

Building a business as a Black woman founder means learning while you lead. I’m grateful to be in a room full of entrepreneurs who are doing the same.

I’ll be sharing lessons along the way. Drop a 🖤 if you want the takeaways.
