@tasteofthephilippines is a BYOB brunch spot that has one of the best breakfast sandwiches in the city 🥪

I also recommend trying the breakfast lumpia, silog, and ube + pandan cookie 🍪

They also have housemade ube & pandan syrups to try in a cold brew!

Save this post for incredible Filipino food in Chicago! @tasteofthephilippines opened about a year ago in the far north side neighborhood of Jefferson Park, after owner Kathy saw much success with her catering business and food stall located inside of @chifrenchmarket.

While the stall has since closed, you can now find Kathy’s delicious Filipino comfort food classics (and delicious sweets/baked goods too) at A Taste of the Philippines (5914 W Lawrence Ave). Egg-kimchi appam, calamansi BBQ sliders, Hanoi dry chicken phở, and more October 19, 6 PM till sellout. Happy hour with $5 beers and n/a drinks, and $12 bespoke cocktails by @the_coffeefairy from 5 until 7 PM. Traditional Cambodian cuisine is still underrepresented and, unfortunately, remains largely unknown to many people today. That’s why it’s so important for us to continue representing a cuisine and culture that was almost completely lost. Being able to participate in special events like this means so much to us.

Events like this give us the opportunity to meet incredibly talented chefs, learn about their cuisines, and share our own. I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people, musicians, and chefs, and to connect through our shared love of food and culture.

Thank you, @getlakhi , for putting together such a beautiful event! You and your team did an amazing job. It was a pleasure meeting new friends, sharing our passion for food, and creating memories that we’ll carry with us.
Being a chef can be very challenging, but moments like this remind us why we do what we do and make all the hard work worth it in the end.
