Tattoo art themed 31 Day drawing challenge for October. Here to support all creatives with encouragement, community, and support. By @adamguyhays

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Starting a new challenge for the betterment of the tattoo and art community on October 1. There’s a few of these types of monthly events that haven’t always resonated with me and I’m hoping to contribute something different. This is open to all who love tattoo art. Professionals, apprentices, appreciators, and artists of all kinds. I hope you’ll join me in challenging myself.

Rules-
•Use the prompts to create a piece of art that each day in whatever medium you prefer. Pen, ink, watercolor, collage, whatever you want.
•Share it daily using the hashtags #tattober #tattober2026 and tags the account @tat_tober
•Don’t offer advice unless someone asks for it. This is for improvement and unprompted criticism can be damaging.

•Support your community and celebrate your differences. Don’t hate on someone’s practice. We all learn from this. Encourage others who have the same love for this as you do.

The challenge starts October 1 for 31 days. I’m going to be sharing folks posts daily that I found inspirational. Feel free to tag me as well if you feel called to.

Save it, share it, support others.🧡🧡🧡

Thanks to @amydooz and all the team here at @remembermeavl for the support. Tattober is a drawing challenge created by artist Adam Guy Hays using a tattoo theme for a daily drawing challenge for the month of October taken in Asheville, North Carolina by @tat_tober

Day 16, WOLF, We’ve officially hit that halfway point. How’s everyone feeling? Tired or motivated? I go back and forth depending on what my day looks like. Personally I’m excited about this one today, drawing animals is always a favorite of mine. Catch y’all later today with another Fashionably Late roundup. Day 15 Roundup of Nautical. Lots of variations and complete opposites with this one. That’s what I love to see. We’re all in the midway point and feels like time is flying. Y’all are doing great and I hope you’re so proud so far! Lots of love-Adam @adamguyhays taken in Downtown Asheville by @tat_tober

Day 15, NAUTICAL, Halfway point! Ish… I really intended for this prompt to just be of the Sea. I didn’t really research the entomology of the word and its associations. Think laterally is all I’m saying. Like boats? Cool, draw one. Like Octopus or sharks? Run it. Airplanes? Nope. Not unless it’s underwater. Make sense? The prompts are loose ‘guidelines for you to explore the ideas thematically. Y’all have fun and let’s see some outside the box ideas. All the best- Adam 🧡 @adamguyhays #tattober #tattober2026 by @tat_tober

Day 14 Roundup, SWALLOW. It’s always hard to take something so simple and make it unique. Adding elements and compositional changes always help. Not thinking literal and trying for the ideas outside the box can be a stretch with time pressure. Here’s a few great examples of the variety that we can get from the same simple starting point. All artists are tagged and appreciated 🧡-Adam @adamguyhays #tattober #tattober2026 taken in Asheville, North Carolina by @tat_tober

Day 14, SWALLOW, A classic silhouette and a timeless image. This prompt was nearly just “Bird”, or “small bird” but thought I’d get more specific given our theme. Let’s see what y’all can do to elevate or incorporate this traditional image. #tattober #tattober2026 -Adam @adamguyhays by @tat_tober

Day 13 Roundup, DEATH . Y’all are killing it. So many good ones it’s hard to keep up. I love seeing everyone’s process videos try to keep sharing those through the day but a little note, if that’s the only way submit make sure there’s a moment or two of just the image on the screen or I can’t screenshot it for the roundup. I’ve also found it hard to include some pieces without cropping off half the image and making it look wonky in this 4:5 format I’m using for all the photos. Hope that makes sense. All the best-Adam🧡 @adamguyhays taken in Asheville, North Carolina by @tat_tober

Hey all over the next few days I’m gonna do some diving into some of the original concepts of this project and I’d love to have an open forum of sorts in the comments. This quote comes from an inspirational writer named @glographics , it resonated with me and I wanted to share it. I hope y’all will stick with me here and share what you’re learning and gaining awareness of in your practices. By sharing we help illuminate ideas within ourselves and others. Rising tides raise all ships. I’m so super pleased with this community so far and I hope you’re all proud of yourselves. Y’all have been beautifully supportive of each other and I hope it becomes a practice you all continue. 🧡Adam- @adamguyhays #tattober #tattober2026 taken in Asheville, North Carolina by @tat_tober

Day 13, DEATH. Here we are with lucky number 13. Death has a number of interpretations and its various representations throughout art history and tattooing. Defiance of, Acceptance, Mourning or remembrance. It’s the one thing we all have in common here undeniably. Here for a good time, not a long time… #tattober #tattober2026 Adam🧡 @adamguyhays taken in Asheville, North Carolina by @tat_tober

Day 12, DRAGON, Over a third in and I know it’s easy to get fatigued by the challenge. I tried to make sure there was some fun ones interspersed throughout to keep us motivated. This one should give you all some creative liberties to explore with. I love drawing dragons and sharing knowledge about them on my page. Get loose, get crazy. Flex those imaginations and have fun. #tattober #tattober2026 ✌️Adam- @adamguyhays taken in Asheville, North Carolina by @tat_tober

Day 11 Roundup, RELIGIOUS, I’d thought that would be a fun one to fall on a Sunday. Hope y’all had a fun lazy day off and are feeling accomplished after 11 days so far. We had a wide range of submissions for this as I hoped. Check out the artists in the slides, there’s a few newcomers I keep adding every day. Encourage your friends. #tattober #tattober2026 All the best-Adam🧡 @adamguyhays taken in Asheville, North Carolina by @tat_tober
