🍁October in Tennessee is absolutely stunning, and this changing season has me thinking about how much can change in a year and a half.

I left Los Angeles grieving my mom and moved across the country to a place where I knew no one. Now Franklin is home. The people, the animals, and the nature here make me feel connected to the earth in a way I didn’t know I needed. My mom was from the South, and maybe that’s part of why this place feels so familiar. I’m so happy my girls get to grow up here.

With her birthday next week, I’ve been thinking about what my mom gave me growing up: the confidence to take on anything and the belief that life is full of adventure and happiness. I hope to pass that on to my girls.

In this season, I’m striving to be present and grateful, and to wake each day thanking God for this beautiful life I still get to live. 🤍 taken in Franklin, Tennessee by @tay
