Where you gonna go?
Where you gonna run?
Where you gonna hide?
NOWHERE, ‘cause there’s no one like you left!
That’s right…💀♉️

DA BLOCK WAS...

I'm trying hard not to make this just a F1GHT Club fan page, but I can't help it. Every show seems to have something worth talking about, or at the very least, something adjacent to the bigger story that deserves a little more attention. Da Block is one of those stories.

Taylor Brooks and Mr. Amazing Tavon Thomas bring their own unique energy, while Dats Ykies, an MCW regular, gives Da Block a connection to fans beyond F1GHT Club. Then there's Victor Walker, the larger-than-life personality who feels right at home in a group built around strong, big personalities. And, of course, Andino, whose place in Da Block's story would eventually become one of its most important chapters.

Because eventually, things changed.

Da Block turned on Andino, creating a major shift in the group's story. But rather than ending Da Block, the betrayal became another chapter. The group continued, showing that its identity was bigger than any one member. That's what makes Da Block worth remembering. They're a collection of very different personalities that work well off of each other. And honestly, we really didn't talk about Da Block enough.

And we still don't.

BLACKNESS HAS NO TEMPLATE

For a long time, people have had a very specific idea of what a “Black wrestler” is supposed to look like, sound like and act like. But Black people have never been one-size-fits-all. Our styles are different. Our influences are different. The way we talk, walk, dress and carry ourselves can be completely different depending on where we come from and what shaped us. Wrestling should reflect that.

Look at Lio Rush, Chris Slade, Taylor Brooks, Treehouse Lee and Ryan Razors to name a few. Different looks. Different personalities. Different influences. Different approaches to wrestling.

And that's exactly the point. Representation isn't just about seeing more Black wrestlers. It's also about seeing different kinds of Black wrestlers.
