the best (& quickest) four years of my life. though the journey of softball isn’t ending for me quite yet, this is the end of something that is so incredibly special to me. i have made so many sisters within these past four years, and i am so incredibly grateful for that. i am thankful for the ups and downs, the laughs and cries, the wins and loses—everything. because this field wasn’t just a field to me. it was home. it was where i learned who i was, where i found confidence after failure, where i picked dirt out of my scraped up knee and kept playing anyway. it was where bus rides felt like therapy sessions, where practices felt like stories i’d tell forever, where every bruise meant i was part of something bigger than myself.

i know i still have so much ahead of me, and i’m excited for what college softball will bring—but nothing will ever quite replace the feeling of putting on this jersey, hearing my name called as i walk upon the field, or looking around at a team that knew my heart better than most people ever will. this was the chapter that raised me. this was the team that held me when i fell apart and celebrated when i got back up. leaving this behind feels like leaving a piece of myself, and honestly, i think that’s okay—because this place helped shape who i am, and who i’m becoming.

so here’s to every swing, every tearful huddle, every shared smile through exhaustion. here’s to the little girl who fell in love with the game, and the person i’ve grown into because of it. this may be the end of my high school career, but it will forever be the beginning of why i’ll step onto every new field with purpose, with pride, and with everything these four years taught me lodged in my heart forever.
