In her recent essay, @ani_tenieshvili_ explores “Objet petit a”, the elusive object of desire and the paradox of wanting what we cannot have.

Drawing on Lacanian psychoanalysis, she reflects on the strange emptiness that follows fulfilment, the pleasure of anticipation, and the ways instant gratification, consumerism, and dating apps reshape our capacity for desire. In a world where everything seems within reach, what happens to the beauty of longing?

@frega.project started in 2018 with an idea by @gabriele_capponi_ and has since grown into a shared vision shaped by three founders: @gabriele_capponi_ , @mattiakoval and @pre_silent.

Rooted in electronic music culture, FREGA goes beyond the dancefloor, exploring how nightlife can become more accessible, inclusive and welcoming to everyone. Through festivals, DJ workshops, music therapy, and collaborations with clubs and cultural institutions, the project challenges the barriers that prevent people from fully participating in cultural life.

At the heart of FREGA is a simple yet powerful belief: accessibility shouldn’t be an afterthought. It should shape how spaces are imagined, experiences are created and communities come together.

From the bamboo labyrinth of Labirinto della Masone to the dancefloor itself, FREGA invites us to rethink who nightlife is for and what becomes possible when everyone has a place in it.

We spoke with the founders of FREGA about inclusion beyond the slogans, designing nightlife for different bodies and needs, and imagining a future where accessibility is no longer the exception, but the norm.

In October 2023, a group of friends launched @alarma.paris in an unnamed warehouse on the outskirts of Paris, born from frustration with the disappearance of warehouse parties in the city.

Since then, the collective has become part of a new generation contributing to Paris’ electronic music scene, bringing together powerful sound, emerging and established artists, accessibility and community while keeping its events deliberately non-commercial.

Transparency is central to ALARMA’s approach. By openly sharing their costs, they want to make the realities of organising a warehouse party more visible and involve more people in understanding and shaping the scene.

As France’s new legislation brings renewed pressure to the warehouse ecosystem, ALARMA questions whether repression is the answer. They believe there are things to improve and make safer, but that organisers, artists and audiences should be part of finding better solutions.

We spoke to the collective about its beginnings, the meaning behind the name, and the future of the warehouse scene.

One month from today, ALARMA returns to the warehouse.

In this conversation with Sergi Kvaratskhelia (@sergi2190), founder of @2190_studio, he takes us into the in-between world of architectural visualization.

Author @ani_tenieshvili_ frames this conversation through Jean Baudrillard’s theory of the simulacrum - the idea that an image can eventually stop representing reality altogether, and instead become the very thing we believe in, before an original ever existed.

For Sergi, an image only truly works when it stops functioning as a technical document and starts making the viewer ask a different question: not “what does this building look like,” but “what would my life feel like there.” A render doesn’t just depict a building. Often, it depicts something that will never be built exactly as shown, and yet it circulates, shapes decisions, becomes a memory before the event itself even happens.

And perhaps what’s most striking is his reflection on what unbuilt space offers that built space never can is a brief window where a building still belongs to everyone, imagined a thousand different ways, before reality settles it into one.

Inside @basssiani , the night holds a kind of freedom that barely exists anywhere else. Darkness that protects, music that moves bodies without judgment, a space where love and identity can exist openly. It is a brief world apart, a place that resists the weight of the city and its limits. And then morning comes. The doors close, the music fades, and the streets remind you why the night matters so much, because out there, even a simple touch can be forbidden.

In this conversation with the members of @furiacollective, they take us through their story that started in Paris three years ago. What began as a few friends organizing parties in a bar, has grown into one of the city’s most distinctive collectives, built around intimacy, community, and staying true to their vision.

They launched their two flagship projects: “Hedony”, a series of day parties blending music with scenography, live performances, and different forms of art, and @podium_session, a monthly livestream where a carefully selected audience gathers around the DJs as one-hour sets are recorded live, turning the room into both a dancefloor and a recording studio.

Since then, Furia Collective has expanded into an After Party series, an intimate 200-person gathering with secret lineups, and a Podcast Series, giving artists a free, slower-paced space to express themselves outside the club format.

Through it all, growth has never meant getting bigger. For Furia Collective, it means creating stronger connections and bringing more like-minded people together, while protecting the intimacy, warmth, and safety that define their community. Their selection process, whether for artists or attendees, is rooted in authenticity and shared values before anything else.

Don’t miss @furiacollective X @feieramt event on July 24th, at @le211paris.

In the conversation with Luca Armando (@armando_slate), he introduces us to @slate__collective, founded in February 2025 in Milan. Born from the desire to create something beyond just another party, SLATE Collective sets out to build a safe space where people can express themselves freely, while music, art, installations, and performances are woven into the events.

The name itself carries meaning: slate is a waterproof stone used to roof and shelter buildings. So, it became the perfect symbol of the refuge the SLATE Collective wanted to create for their community.

Beyond their residency at @nuovoanfiteatromartesana, SLATE Collective has grown into something bigger than nightlife. With “New Faces” podcast, they give emerging artists space and visibility in a scene where breaking into established circles isn’t easy.

And with the “Slate Meets Art” project, they’re bringing performers, visual artists, and multidisciplinary creatives straight into the club space because for the SLATE Collective, the club always has room for more than music.

In our new editorial series “Inside Collectives”, we step into the worlds of diverse art collectives shaping today’s cultural landscape.

We start with @tensione_collective.
Born in Puglia out of a lack of independent spaces and growing restrictions around nightlife in Italy, Tensione emerged as a response: building their own environments from the ground up. What began as an instinctive need for connection evolved into a fluid cultural platform moving between music, art, and spatial experimentation.

At the core of Tensione is the idea of “tension” not as conflict, but as a shared intensity, an energy created between people, sound, and space. From abandoned factories to historic buildings, they transform “non-places” into temporary collective rituals, where boundaries between artist and crowd dissolve.

More than events, Tensione is about reclaiming space, fostering community, and creating moments that exist only in the presence.

For a long time, @romain.guede has been moving through nightlife with a camera in hand. What began as a quiet way to exist within a space slowly turned into a deep immersion into electronic music and alternative scenes.

Over the years, his relationship to the night has constantly evolved. He has adapted to changing environments, communities, and expectations, shaping a practice that is as much about presence as it is about observation.

Let’s take a closer look at his journey.

It Was Just an Accident by Jafar Panahi

When authority becomes a shadow in every corner, how does a society find its voice?

In Iran, people take to the streets despite arrests, killings, and silenced networks, daring to defy fear itself.

What can films like “It Was Just an Accident” reveal about power, and what can protests reveal about courage?
