TODAY WAS FOR THIAGO. 🖤🥋

Today our kids stepped onto the @jjworldleague mats for their first competition as a team without their Professor standing beside them. And yeah… we felt it.

But win or lose, every single one of them went out there with Thi on their minds and in their hearts. They fought hard, supported each other, celebrated each other, and showed exactly what it means to be a TEAM.

Because a great Professor doesn’t just teach you Jiu-Jitsu — he leaves a piece of himself in every student he teaches.

Different corner. Same lessons. Same heart. Same team. ❤️‍🔥

We showed up. We fought together. We represented together.

Every match. Every battle. Every medal. TODAY WAS FOR THIAGO. 🖤

We miss you, Professor @tbrito13 Your team is still fighting. 🥋🔥

Big thanks to all of our coaches @ktramel_mma @profit0409 @alldayjonray @torinsaunders & Coach chris

🏆 JIU-JITSU CON 2026 CHAMPION! 🏆

HUGE congratulations to Liam Karas for taking GOLD 🥇 in the Teen 3 Yellow Belt Heavyweight Division!

Months of work. Countless rounds. One goal.

And when his hand was raised, Liam made sure someone very important was right there with him in that moment. ❤️

He held up the “T” for Professor Thiago. 🫶

Different country. Same team. Same family.
Everything you taught these kids is still showing every time they step on those mats.

This one was for T. @tbrito13 🇧🇷❤️

Congratulations, @liamkaras_mma — JIU-JITSU CON CHAMPION! 🥇🔥

After a long month of being detained, Coach Thiago has been granted voluntary departure and is currently on a plane back to Brazil. ❤️

We don’t yet know what this means for his future in the States, but we’re relieved and grateful that he’s safe.

We’re beyond grateful for his years of sharing jiu jitsu with us, making us laugh, and pushing us to be better. The mats won’t be the same without him, but we’ll keep making sure we bring the juice for Coach Thiago.

We’re also extremely grateful for our community/family here at Beacon. Many of you wrote letters, made donations, and checked in on him. All of that love was shared with him, and he was able to feel it even when he wasn’t with us. 🌊💙

The donations have helped cover numerous lawyer fees which helped expedite him out of detainment and his plane ticket back to Brazil. The remainder will help him get on his feet.

We anticipate hosting a BJJ seminar to continue raising funds for him. Stay tuned for those details!

We love you Thi! 🤝🧃🌊 by @tbrito13
