Keep running. @ironmantri Madison 70.3. Run 2:12:50. A 30 second PR at this race but new course which was running down and up the helix parking garage and uneven roads along the lake. Overcast but humid. Felt good but also hot. I had to pour water over my head to cool down. 5th rank AG Run. Pleased with PR and no GI issues or bathroom breaks. Definitely had to stay focused on the roads @ironmantri Madison 70.3. After 9 miles of bike trail weaving around you are out in the beautiful farm countryside of South Madison. Cows, trackers and plenty of uphill climbing with only a few steep downhills. This course has changed numerous of times. Nutrition on point and weather was overcast with 9 mph winds and gust of 20 mph SW. So pretty much wind in all directions of the bike route. I held 4th place going into T2. Excited coming out of @ironmantri Madison 70.3 when I beat my goal time and PR 2 minutes with the 2nd fastest AG 32:34. @blueseventy Helix is amazing wetsuit. It’s been so comfortable and fast this season. 69 seconds from a 5th place podium kinda stings but I did get 2 minute Swim PR and rank 2nd in rough conditions and it’s my second best overall IM Madison time. I met my goals and for 10 minutes after the finish line tracker did say 5th. I always say “wait 1/2 hour still more ladies coming in”. Slots went to first 50 women and under the new handicap slot allocation I was 41 and qualified for IM World Chatty Championship but I left immediately afterwards to drive home and repacked for a 7:00 am flight to DC the next morning. @ironmantri Madison 70.3 ✅ My 33rd half. I don’t take finisher medals for granted. Anything can happen good or bad. As long as I’m having fun and still have the drive. I’ve down 11 marathons and it just wasn’t fun anymore so I stopped doing marathons. Triathlons has 4 disciplines (swim, bike, run and transition) which all can be improved. My 3rd @ironmantri 70.3 this year ✅. The best I’ve ever felt at a finished line. Usually I’m exhausted, nausea, hypothermia or heat stroke. Weather Air 63-77 degrees. 80% humidity. Water 74.4 degrees. SW 8 mph with 16 gust. Swim: clear water, some choppiness from the winds. Easy sighting and stayed close to buoys. PR 32:34 2nd Rank. Wetsuit strippers didn’t understand my @blueseventy Helix is a reversed up not down. Frustrated to make up some lost time. T1 ran up the helix parking garage. Decided not to arm warmers. BIKE: new course than past. Still super hilly and “rough” roads. I heard it was a 57 miles 🤷‍♀️. RUN: run down the helix 2 loops on uneven roads near the lake. Humidity was forcing me to get more fluids in. Walk aid some aid stations. Took some Tums. Again run up the helix to finish line. Super happy with 6th AG 6:08:11. Top 10 for all my Ironman 70.3 this year. I’ll take it 💥🥊.
