Just over a year ago I was invited to to join @jonathanladdgardens on a research trip to Villa Mabrouka in Tangiers - not a week goes by when I don’t wish I could be sitting by, what must be, one of the most perfect pools, taking in the glorious gardens.. and feeling like I could almost touch the cost of Spain!!

First part of our trip - Chandigarh - Nehru and Corbusier’s post colonial vision for India and Nek Chands radical organic Rock Garden that counters Corbusier’s grid structured city based on the human body (head - law courts govt, heart - residential, lungs - parks, right arm - education, left arm - industry). We were able to stay in Pierre Jeanneret’s house - jeanneret, Corbusier’s cousin, supervised the construction of Chandigarh and his was the first house to be built in Chandigarh

Big shout out to @judemillais @sasha.gallagher @redfernkit @wilfsby for the most incredible launch of their woodland music & arts festival @blankcanvasfestival last weekend.. pulled together in just a couple of months, during exams and with only one of them having a driving licence, not forgetting train strikes and the British weather. 💪 amazing bands, musicians, DJs, art poetry, lighting, design - the best people and the most beautiful setting 👏 👏 can’t wait for next year ❤️🏆 ⭐️ 💚

Kenya is experiencing one of the worst droughts in decades - 2.6M livestock have been lost in the last few months.
Most of the men of this Maasai village & all the cattle are 70km away - having left the village in search of pastures.
Cattle are prohibited from the central areas of Nairobi but we came across this Maasai herdsman grazing his cattle on the well watered verges outside the State House..

The Masai live simply, close to nature and respectful of wildlife - the house, (always built by the wife) consists of two rooms - one for the parents and a kitchen where 5 children sleep on one bed - the village medicine man has a natural cure for everything!m!

No one mentioned climate change - they were just praying for rain.
