Building these skills is not easy and will drive you insane.

So slow tf down if you need to.
Test one skill every 1-2 weeks if you need to.

This is why your first year isn’t about making profit, it’s about understanding the real metrics that matter and building the right skills sustainably.

This is the unsexy part of business but the more reps and hours you put in the easier it gets.

This is why tracking likes and follows gets you nowhere.
Build slowly, protect your energy and the success will follow. by @teachmetati

Respect the broke phase.
It’s not optional and it serves a purpose.

As an artist, do you know anyone who created their signature style on day one?

Even with natural talent, you still had to build the skills that define you. You had to develop discipline. You had to train.

Business is no different.
You don’t get to skip the skill-building phase if you want something real and lasting.

The biggest lie social media sold us is that success comes fast. It trains you to believe you can build a 10k business in 3 months and then makes you feel inadequate when you can’t.
That’s not random. That’s design.

Fight me if you want, but no one with a lasting sustainable business skips the broke phase.
No one.

So instead of spiraling, ask yourself:

What do I need to make myself comfortable while I build? by @teachmetati

Share how you’re positioning your art 👇🏾

You do not have to say this sentence in your content but it should serve as your true north for content.

Have in mind where people will be placing your art. Then most of your artwork should be filmed in that “environment”.

So if I’m making art for spicy book lovers to put in their reading spaces. Then guess what. Most of my content needs to show my art in a reading space.

You need to be as obvious as possible because people’s brains are OFF!

And yes you even have to state or show what emotion your art is making people feel. Cause they’re brains are off and they can’t name it right away. So if your art is making people feel mischievous, then maybe have a mischievous smirk on your face while showing your art. Or using text on screen like “feeling a little cheeky while reading smut” and boom show your art.

This is how you position your art.

You don’t need more motivational “this is how I grew my art shop” videos.

You need to start learning social media skills geared towards artists!

If you’re ready to build a sustainable art shop go to “teach me Tati” on YouTube for the free course

People buy when they feel connection.

Use this formula to help people connect with your art:

I make art for [identity] that lives in/on [environment] and helps them feel [emotions].

How many “I made 10k last month” videos will you keep falling for until you realize they aren’t helpful?

Instead watch
- filming
- editing
- connection building

Tips specifically geared for artists.

That’s how you move the needle forward. Not by comparing yourself to these “successful” artists
