A few weeks ago on a very busy Saturday, a customer approached the till and said I have a confession to make….our hearts sank as you often fear the worst but on this occasion he produced his ID to show he was a mystery judge who had visited us to assess us for the Taste of the West Awards. Fast forward to last week when we received the feedback that we had achieved Gold within the South West and then today this beauty arrived - we are so honoured to be rated amongst some of the best places in the region plus it goes to show you what consistent hard work and determination can achieve and remember why you do what you do ❤️ Thank you @tasteofthewestcic we are so very happy! by @teacuptearoom

What a wonderful week we have had - it started off with a couple of celebrities visiting our little tearoom but we never like to say who, as we respect their privacy but needless to say one loved a lot of Marmite on his bagel! We then spent the week developing and creating some new cake recipes that went down very well and then finally we were honoured to be in the finals of the Cornwall Tourism Awards where after a rigorous few months of assessments including an Industry ‘Secret Shopper’ visit we were awarded Gold for Cornwall’s Best Cafe / Tearoom - we are over the moon and thank all our wonderful customers who have visited us and continue to support us at the Teacup Tearoom 💛 taken in Teacup Tearoom by @teacuptearoom

After the first time in five days I have managed to feel a bit more normal so have been baking all day ready to reopen on Saturday - we are still finding our feet so we will be opening at 11am and will be serving a reduced menu this weekend as it’s @mevagisseyshantyfest so things may be a tad busy for our recovering selves to be back to usual - don’t worry there will be plenty of freshly baked cakes and our delicious cream teas to enjoy #tearoom #cornishtearoom #cornishcreamtea #homemadecakes #mevagissey taken in Teacup Tearoom by @teacuptearoom

This is always one of the most popular choices for a light breakfast or brunch - plenty of smoked salmon slices, served with creamy scrambled eggs in hot buttered toast slices with a side of dill relish #scrambledeggs #scrambledeggsandsmokedsalmon #tearoombreakfast #tearoombrunch #morethanjustcreamteas taken in Teacup Tearoom by @teacuptearoom
