The 7th annual @team_avsc Sam Ryan Coffey memorial Scholarship was awarded last week. With @alaskaspeedy becoming our first female and international
recipient.

“Alaska Speedy came to mind immediately for the SRC: She loves going fast, she loves ski racing, and she is a competitor through and through. But there was one thing that really sealed it for us. Alaska was on a ski trip in Norway, and she did a backflip into the icy Norwegian water. We thought that captured Alaska perfectly — that sense of adventure, that willingness to just go for it.

Thank you to our Club 1937 donors for joining us Tuesday evening for our second annual Heart of Gold celebration!

It was a special evening bringing together the AVSC community and recognizing several of our named scholarship recipients for their accomplishments, commitment, and continued journeys with AVSC.
Club 1937 donors provide an important financial foundation for AVSC, helping make scholarships and opportunities on snow possible for young athletes throughout our valley.

Mark your calendars!

Registration for the 2027 Owl Creek Chase and Owl Creek Tour opens next Thursday, October 1.

The race is scheduled for Janaury 10, 2027.

The Owl Creek Chase is a unique opportunity to continuously ski the spectacular point to point owl creek trail from Snowmass to Aspen. This year there is a $5,000 prize pool. More details available on the webpage which can be found at the link in our bio. by @team_avsc

AVSC in the southern hemisphere!

AVSC athlete Alaska Speedy had a great New Zealand season - earning the yellow bib which is awarded to the top ranked series GS skier. She also earned the NZ GS and NZ National Junior GS titles.

And AVSC athlete Jack Morris took home 🥈 On the other side of the southern hemisphere at the first ever Uruguay National Championship held in El Colorado Chile. by @team_avsc

A $25 donation per adult gets you half off your tab at the Kenichi Aspen location on Wednesday, September 23.

U15 and U19 Freestyle Moguls went to El Colorado, Chile in late July to get some on-snow training. Our moguls team had several feet of snow fall during the two weeks they were in the southern hemisphere!

After repeatedly digging their course out of the fresh snow, the freestyle team had world-class training in soft conditions. by @team_avsc

Registration for AVSC's Recreational Division, Aspen Supports Kids, opens in two weeks - Sunday, August 23 at 5:00 p.m.

ASK programs sell out, so be prepared to log in on Sunday! Go to our website to review the latest ASK program offerings.

We are also offering two in-person office hour locations on Sunday to help you with registration. If you think you may need assistance in English or Spanish, come see us on Sunday, August 23, from 5:00 p.m. through 7:00 p.m. at the Crown Mountain Park Clubhouse at 501 Eagle Count Drive, El Jebel Colorado.

We will also be at the AVSC Clubhouse at 300 AVSC Drive, Aspen Colorado, from 5:00 p.m. through 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 23.

If you are able, we recommend you register online on August 23 to streamline the process.
