Since October is National Estate Planning Month, here’s today’s tip:

If you already have an estate plan, when was the last time you actually looked at it? 🧐

Life changes. We get married, 💒divorced, 💔have children 👶🏻👶🏻👶🏻👶🏻👶🏻👶🏻👶🏻👶🏻and grandchildren, 👶🏻👶🏻👶🏻👶🏻👶🏻👶🏻👶🏻👶🏻buy and sell real estate, 🏘️and unfortunately, sometimes we lose people we love. 🪦😔

Your estate plan should change as your life changes.

It’s time to review those documents!!! Are the right people still listed? 🫣Do your beneficiaries reflect what you want today? 🙄Does your plan include the real estate 🏡and other assets you currently own?🤔

Having an estate plan is great. Having an estate plan that actually reflects your life today is even better, so don’t put it off!

Happy 😀 Tuesday 👋 Have you been saying, “I really need to get my Will done…”?

For our final Tip Tuesday during National Make-A-Will Month, estate planning attorney Carlos Aguila of Aguila Law and I wanted to take away one of the biggest excuses many of us have:
“I don’t even know where to start.” 🫣
The good news? You don’t need to have everything figured out before meeting with an estate planning attorney. That’s what they’re there for. ❤️
The bigger question is: What happens if you keep putting it off?
If you don’t make your wishes known and put the proper estate plan in place, Florida law may ultimately determine what happens to your assets and, unfortunately, that may not be what you would have chosen. ☹️
Estate planning isn’t about focusing on the day you won’t be here. It’s about what you can do today to give yourself peace of mind and your family clarity for tomorrow.😌
I’ve seen personally how difficult things can become for a family when everything isn’t planned ahead. And I’ve also experienced the peace of mind that comes from knowing a parent has taken the time to put their wishes in place.

Here is our challenge:

Stop 🛑 thinking about it and take the first step. Make the appointment. 📅 Your family will be grateful you did. ❤️
