“Our young people are our future leaders, and investing in their health, confidence, and opportunities through sport is incredibly important.” Meet Nick Arrington. 👏 Nick has been a competitive runner for nearly a decade, and earlier this year, he joined NYRR Team for Kids as a way of giving back to the community. He raised funds for the program while training for his third Tokyo Marathon. “It was a meaningful opportunity to combine my passion for marathon running with a mission that creates access and opportunity for young athletes through New York Road Runners.” It’s no wonder Nick is so passionate about youth sports. He participated in Little League as a kid and went on to play baseball at Tuskegee University. That experience helped Nick build discipline and leadership skills. “I understand firsthand the power of youth sports to open doors and create pathways to success.” Nick joined NYRR in 2017 after watching a good friend complete the TCS New York City Marathon. The following year, he ran that iconic race for the first time, and duplicated the feat in 2019 and 2021. But Nick’s 26.1-mile adventures extend well beyond the five boroughs. In 2023, with the completion of the Tokyo Marathon, he earned the Abbott World Marathon Majors Six Star Medal, and when he finishes the London Marathon this month, he’ll become the first Black American man to complete all six Abbott World Marathon Majors three times. “With the right mindset and support, what seems impossible today can quickly become your next finish line.” Let's send some community 💚💚💚 to Nick ⬇️. by @teamforkids
