It’s been an extremely tough year for me and many of us. It’s really hard to grasp that a full year has gone by since Kenneth’s passing. You have been constantly on my mind bro and in my heart. Encouraging me to GIVE’R rather than giving up. Yesterday we celebrated your birthday in the best way possible and I know you were looking down on us proud to see how we’re keeping your spirit alive and guiding us along the way. I have felt your presence many times this year and it has gotten me through a lot of things.
...
I wanted to repost this video and please watch it until the end where Kenneth makes a powerful statement about how to live your life to the fullest and inspire others to do the same. I have cried multiple times watching this and missing my best friend on a daily basis. It’s hard to explain how much someone can mean to you, and comfort you and put your life into perspective by reminiscing on things and encouraging you to be the best version of yourself. And to Be Yourself. Without judgement. This is what Kenneth did for me and I will forever cherish that.
...
Kenneth incorporated Give Back into the meaning of GIVE’R. He demonstrated this behaviour and kind whole hearted attitude on a daily basis. And I will be forever grateful to live up to that and strive to do the same. That’s just the person he was and will forever inspire many of us to be. The nicest person I have ever met in my life and those characteristics I have deeply missed over the year.
...
I want to announce that the ‘Team GIVE’R Foundation’ will be created in honour of Kenneth McAlpine. There has been an unbelievable amount of support and funds that have been raised in Kenneth’s name and I cannot thank you enough for the outpour of support you have provided to keep his legacy alive. After speaking with his family and close friends we will be using your financial support to help those in need that have a desire to chase their dreams and follow their passions in life. To support them in achieving their ambitions by giving it all they got to make their dreams a reality. Please give us some time as we build out and revamp the website, http://teamgiver.ca. ⬇️ continued in the comments below by @teamgiver

In partnership with @thenorthface, we’re proud to present the heartstring-pulling backstory of @teamgiver, a non-profit youth freeski team based out of @redresort in Rossland, B.C.

Founded by the infectiously positive @ryangiver, the Team GIVE’R Freeride Club represents much more than just a ski team. As part of the Team GIVE’R Foundation, which was born out of a devastating tragedy and life-changing loss for Lachapelle, its driving purpose is to selflessly give back and pay it forward to young athletes in the Rossland community and beyond, all while honouring the memory and legacy of a fallen friend.

Presented by: @thenorthface_snow
Produced by: @jeffschmuck & @danetudor
Filmed by: @aidancroskrey & @jamestannerdp

Dedicated to: @chefcoachkenny

Connecting through nature, local food, and community is at the heart of everything we do at HealthWithNature.Org. Gatherings like the Kenneth’s Walk remind us why these shared moments outdoors are so vital for our collective well-being.

Set against the scenic backdrop of Duntroon Highlands Golf, hosted at The Highlands House, the event brought people together in reflection, movement, and genuine human connection. While the walk honours and remembers Kenneth while supporting the inspiring work of the Team Give’r Foundation, it also speaks to a broader truth: we heal, grow, and thrive when we step outside and gather as a community.

Sharing locally sourced food and walking together under open skies serves as a quiet reminder that wellness is not an isolated pursuit. It is built in the spaces where we show up for one another, honour shared memories, and ground ourselves in the natural world.

Thank you to everyone who joined, contributed, and helped cultivate a space where nature, nourishment, and community intersect.

Hard to believe this was our 6th Annual Kenneth’s Walk ❤️ This event is so special to many of us. It continues to evolve. Lots of the same people have come for six years straight! Thank you! And it is always amazing to welcome new guests and chefs and beverage suppliers! To see this event evolve over the years has been truly amazing.

“Kenneth’s Walk is a reunion. A reunion of friends, family and meeting new people. As we get older, it feels like it gets harder to see one another…at least that’s the case for me. This day brings us all together annually to honour Kenneth through connection, reflection, good food, games and so much more. It’s a celebration of life and living in the moment. It’s a reminder of the amazing person Kenneth was and the core values he lived by. Those values, I know many of us bring into our own lives. Thank you all for coming and we are so happy to share this tradition with you.” @ryangiver
