I had a 9–5, but my salary wasn’t the only money I made from my skill. As a software engineer, here are 4 other ways I earned: Teaching frontend development I trained people to build websites and develop their frontend skills. What I knew became something I could teach. Writing articles I shared my knowledge online. Organisations noticed my articles and started paying me $40 per article. 💻 Freelancing I built websites, apps and features for clients alongside my full-time job. 🤝 Mentorship People reached out for guidance on getting software engineering jobs and finding international opportunities. My experience became valuable to people navigating their next career move. Now you can even more in dollars by teaching or training AI your skills. Organizations pay for this. Each new thing I learned opened another way to earn. Before you rush to learn a completely different skill, ask yourself: “How else can I use what I already know?” Someone might need you to teach it, write about it, build with it or guide them through it.
