Never did I think waking up at 7am and climbing until late afternoon would be something I'd be willingly sign up for, but it was character building in every way, putting both the body and the gear to the test.

Thankful for zero mechanical issues...apart from breaking my derailleur hanger while leaning the bike against a bench, and with the frame bag acting like a kite, the wind blew it over snapping it. So glad I had a spare one or the trip would have ended right there.

Climbing to Thorong La Pass at 5,416m was a mission. Low oxygen, cooked muscles, and barely any proper sleep at altitude made the whole mission feel like going to war, but climbing for an entire week means there's one thing waiting at the top: a longggg descent.

Many hikers thought I was crazy for biking there, but it turned out to be very doable. I had walked the Annapurna Circuit in 18 days before; this time, it took nine days by bike. Seeing the same mountains twice — first on foot, then on two wheels gave a new perspective that I found intriguing.

The whole experience was so therapeutic and liberating. This route is rated 9/10 hard on Bikepacking.com, but it reminded me that even the hardest things are doable when you take them one pedal stroke at a time while keeping your balance — like life, one small push can open up to so many possibilities you couldn't even fathom.

The descent was gnarly — snow-covered loose rocks meant mistakes would be unforgiving, but it was fun undoing 5,400m of climbing in a few hours after earning every metre the hard way.

This one is for the book.

Two months of thin air in Nepal 🇳🇵 March 9 — May 10 ‘26

Annapurna Circuit (Mar 12–29 | 18 days)
Mardi Himal (Apr 10–14 | 5 days)
Annapurna Base Camp (Apr 14–19 | 6 days)

Left home with a heavy heart — somewhere between the climbs and the quiet, I realized not everything is meant to be held onto, and not everything lost is meant to be found again.

The mountains have a way of stripping things back — ego, noise, certainty — until all that’s left is each step, each breath, and the simple question of whether you keep going.

Three hikes, 29 days on the trail, countless steps — lungs pushed, legs tested, but a mind slowly learning to let go.

Grateful for every soul I crossed paths with along the way — brief encounters, shared struggles, and the unspoken understanding that we were all carrying something up those mountains.
