Had this up in stories yesterday but didn't shout out all the legends involved in making this joy machine happen:
@atomiccycles_fanpage Paul at Atomic Cycles for the initial build a year ago, and for being an inspiration. @ericjmelanson for the rear wheel setup and always being happy to invite me along for fun stuff. @jonesbikes for making the best rigid MTB ever. @idealmetals for repairing the best rigid MTB ever. @kylebkelley for the frame repair recommendation, and for always being down for something kooky. @shawn182 for the front wheel build and for the excellent side-eye whenever I ask for something silly. @josholisss for staying cool under unnecessary pressure. Everyone at @allezlabikeshop for being rad and welcoming.

It ain't the prettiest bike (I guess) and it ain't the fastest or the blingiest or the -est of anything, but this bicycle bubbles joy from deep within me and I will crash it proudly at every ill-advised opportunity. Thanks y'all. Death is faster than me, but not on the downhill. by @tediseasy

Another successful volunteer effort @mwbaorg. The climb up over the dam is all-time. We're pushing towards the washed-out section, basically already there, so hopefully getting a re-route approved soon. Thanks to all the volunteers who came out today, y'all earned that Topo Chico, freaking legends. by @tediseasy

Treadwork. Anyone remember those gnarly ruts on lower Sunset Ridge Trail? With what seemed like concrete curbs on the outside? They're history, thanks to a bunch of quality @mwbaorg volunteers. When the Eaton Fire burn closure is lifted (someday), the trails back in here are going to be *chef's kiss* by @tediseasy

You want park flow? Go ride park. You want to do laps at 23mph on your 50lb e-rig? Dig up your own backyard. But if you want natural surface singletrack with some tight corners that's publicly and freely available and shared with hikers, runners, and equestrians then we got the goods.

(Crap) berms and huge sends with false-edge landing pads enable mountain bikers to carry speed through sections of trail that are narrow, height-exposed, and meant to be shared with trail users who would be greatly endangered by fast mtb. Increasing speed also degrades the trail bed faster as riders brake harder and longer. (Go ride Blue Bug if you don't believe me.) And without a park crew to maintain it, the experience degrades for MTB too. Everybody loses.

So when I have to decide between restricting speed and restricting access, the choice is easy.
