We’re excited to announce Tania Chau’s promotion to Principal at ALA Studio!Tania has been part of ALA since 2018 and became our Director of Interior Design in 2019, just two years after the firm was founded.Since then, she has helped shape many of the projects our firm has become known for, including Bloomberg, Tia, HealthQuarters, HBF, Juno Veterinary, Red Bull, and Anna Jona. It’s Girl Scout cookie season again ! Please consider purchasing Corinne and her troop; this year they will be donating to the Brooklyn Cat Cafe which supports cat welfare in NYC. With your help, she’s exceeded her goals (and the troop also) in the last two seasons and we’d love to do the same again! There is a new cookie this year, Exploremores, that we heard is really good!You can order directly on her cookie site (link in bio). It’s Girl Scout 🍪 Season!I usually don’t share much about my kids here but I’m making an exception to support my daughter (and bc I like to share yummy things!). My daughter Corinne is selling Girl Scout cookies for the first time with her all Daisy @gstroop2569 in Brooklyn! She has a personal goal of 800 boxes (ambitious, I know!) and her troop will be purchasing supplies for pets to donate to a local animal shelter with the proceeds. If they raise enough they also hope to go to a water park as a troop. I’ve linked to her cookie site in my bio if you’d like to support her! I went to Open Studios @urbanglass_nyc today and learned how to make a blown glass ornament! It was mostly the instructor making it with a light assist from me, not surprisingly, but it was still very cool. I couldn’t get a video of us rolling and blowing the glass as my hands were otherwise occupied, so I added in a clip from the demo just so that step was included. I can’t wait to see how it turns out! by @teeciao

Bao in Chicago! We had a wonderful evening showing our @hbffurniture Bao collection poufs against the Chicago skyline to local designers. I am so proud and excited to share that we’ve been working on a pouf collection with @hbfcontract ! This design study, which is yet to be named, is on sneak preview at #neocon2022 and features three of the pieces that we conceived for this family - an adorable 18” single round, a 48” diameter semi-circular piece, and the one that I’m most excited about, an 18” stackable model! I particularly love how beautifully the brass detail on the stacking version turned out. And they look so good with @erinrubydesign ‘s amazing new textile Stardust for @hbftextiles ! This is @alda_ly_architecture ‘s (and my own) first foray into furniture design and seeing it in person was like meeting your baby for the first time. 😀 If you are at @neocon_shows tomorrow, please stop by the HBF showroom on 3 to check it out.
