Arafat began her transformative journey at TEENSMATA. Learned to take care of her body during menstruation and gained a valuable life skill that allowed her to earn extra income to support her education.

With the guidance and resources provided by USAID/YPE4AH, Arafat has improved her personal well-being and is now on a path to achieving her academic and life goals.

TEENSMATA has improved adolescents' well-being and cultivated positive changes in attitude, and behavior. We have helped them reach their full potential.

Through our training and counseling, Abdullahi gained valuable interpersonal and communication skills. He developed strong behavioral attributes and connected with others, and now he is a positive influence in his community.

My Life-Changing Experience with Usaid-Ypeah (2022-2024)
➖
Volunteering with Usaid-Ypeah from 2022-2024 was a thrilling, impactful, life-changing, and change-making experience that empowered me to make a difference in the lives of over a thousand out-of-school adolescents. I facilitated life planning sessions for 55% of my audience, helping them prevent unwanted pregnancies and adopt safe sex practices. Additionally, I enabled skills acquisition and soft skills training for 100% of my participants, enhancing their employability and wealth creation capabilities.

Throughout my journey, I encountered challenges that tested my emotional intelligence. I learned to understand and respect the adolescents' feelings, becoming a safe space for them and avoiding judgment. Together, we found solutions to the challenges they faced.

As I reflect on my experience, I'm filled with pride and satisfaction. I've witnessed my adolescents thrive across education, social, and economic development. Seeing them reject drug abuse and engage in social reforms, influencing their peers to do the same, brings me immense joy.

I'm deeply indebted to my exceptional support system, who made this journey truly unforgettable:

- Mr. Adeniyi Adetola (Zamina Master), my visionary Coordinator, whose leadership was a masterclass in passion, empathy, and inspiration. Your guidance was the wind beneath my wings

- Ms. Toluwanimi Dorcas, my compassionate nurse, whose kindness and warmth created a safe haven for me to share my thoughts and feelings. You're a true angel in disguise

- Ajibosin Fatima Olabisi, my rockstar partner, whose unwavering support and teamwork were the backbone of our success.

- Comrade Aliu Layeni, my honcho and mentor, whose belief in me led me here.

- Mrs. Boladale Akin-Kolapo, Project Chief of Party, USAID-YPE4AH, special thanks for her visionary leadership and guidance.

- Every coach and colleague I've had the privilege of working with on this project, Our collaboration was a symphony of excellence, a beautiful ride I'll always treasure.
