Huuuuge year for our whānau looking back I didn’t realise how many missions we made from HAMILTON to KAWAKAWA daaaamn but I’m glad we don’t get that stink feeling of leaving the north anymore

I still remember the day I left the North, I was sad to leave my parents and siblings but damn I was excited, I couldn’t wait to finally experience life outside the borders of Motatau.

However I learned very quickly how lucky I was to have been brought up in a place rich in Te Ao Māori, Te Reo Māori and all the amazing things Motatau offers
It’s very true when people say
“You can take the girl out of the country but you can’t take the country out of the girl.”

16.5 years away and 15 of those away with Teina many highs and lows, studying, getting a degree, Teina getting his qualifications 😮‍💨 , living in different cities, long distance, travelling, starting a family, late nights, THE WOORKS!!

11 years in Hamilton
We finally gave in and came home
I ain’t gonna lie i resisted mainly because I couldn’t see myself continuing to be an actor in Northland 😅 but Teina reassured me we could do this and it was the right time.
I swear I will follow this man to the ends of the earth even if it led us to a dead end 😂
But also the excitement to live so close to your parents in your mid 30s is another conversation all together 🥹🥰

After all the viewings, many phone calls, emails, printing and signing, scanning, more signing 😅 (daaamn the paperwork though) and 100 conversations with many people who have been through this journey
(thank you for the advice)

WE BLOODY DID IT ❤️

BUT this wouldn’t have been possible without Teina.
He’s a bloody hard worker and always holds it down for us.
Being in an industry like mine there are times where mahi is plentiful, times when there’s so much mahi you’re trying to juggle lots of different contracts BUT there are times when it’s quiet and there’s nothing
and through all that Teina is always there consistently working to put that roof over our heads even if it means holding down the fort while I’m away for sometimes MONTHS 😮‍💨
HE’S LITERALLY OUR MAIN MAN ❤️🥹

YEARS OF HARD WORK FOR THEM

But there’s nothing more humbling than finally getting that SOLD sticker and our “everythings” say

Our boys ❤️

I hardly post them now days because they’re sick of my 💩
😂😂😂
Big changes happening for our little whānau especially our boys this year ❤️ but they’re so on to it

Ururangi is growing so fast it feels like only yesterday I was bringing him home from the hospital 🥹
He’s so chill, still shy and will only talk if you start the conversation otherwise he’s happy to just sit there and literally noho tekoteko 😂 he has a creative mind but if you piss him off 😬😬 🫣

Manuriki well he’s just a little manager 😂 very organised, very matter of fact. He’s curious about how the world works, I think he asked me one time how tall Jesus was😂 he’s an over achiever and his little mind is always thinking about things.

Teina and I stare at all our kids and think HTF did we just end up with 3 kids 😂😂😂 what are we up to 😂

Anyways this photo was taken before Manu lost his front teeth so he looks a bit different now 😂 by @teinasimona
