I missed the fire.
The smell of copal. The sound of stones entering the dark. The return to the womb of Mother Earth

Maybe itโ€™s time to open this door again?

Setting an intention is one of the most powerful practices we can bring into our livesโ€ฆ.

In yoga, it is called Sankalpa - a heartfelt vow that aligns us with our deepest truth.
In many Native American traditions, prayers and intentions are offered before ceremonies, honoring our connection to the Earth, Spirit, and community.
In Mexico, ancestral traditions invite us to create with purpose, whether through an altar, a prayer, or an offering to the elements.
In the Sacred Valley of Peru, the Andean people make despachos - beautiful ceremonial offerings woven with gratitude, reciprocity, and intention for Pachamama.

Imagine if every action, every word, and every thought carried conscious intention.
Imagine the ripple effect that would have on our relationships, our communities, and our world.

๐Ÿฆ‹๐Ÿฆ‹๐Ÿฆ‹๐Ÿฆ‹

Our dear friend Yulia @yuliaworld shared ancestral wisdom with us before the creation of a mandala, reminding us that every meaningful creation begins with a clear intention. Before a single flower was placed, before a single pattern emerged, there was a prayer, a purpose, and a collective vision.

These are the moments that stay with us long after the journey ends. The moments that become memories. The moments that transform us.

We cannot wait to return to @samadhisacredvalley the Sacred Valley of Peru, where ancient wisdom still whispers through the mountains and every ceremony invites us to remember what truly matters.

โœจ What intention are you carrying in your heart right now? Share it below and let it be witnessed by this community.

๐ŸŒŒYour first Temazcal is not just a ceremony โ€“ it is a return to yourself.
โ€จHere are a few simple ways to prepare:
โ€จโ€“ Bring a towel, bikini/wetsuit, and water.โ€จโ€“ Arrive with an intention.โ€จโ€“ Avoid alcohol on the day of your ceremony.โ€จโ€“ Eat light and avoid heavy food at least two hours before.โ€จโ€“ Skip perfumes and synthetic scents.โ€จโ€“ After the ceremony, stay hydrated, eat fruits and nourishing meals, journal your experience, and protect your space by avoiding crowded environments.

๐ŸŒ€And most importantly โ€” do not overthink.

All you need is to come with openness to experience this beautiful, sacred, and simple ritual that has survived centuries and was kept for us in its original form. All you will need to do is breathe.

โ”Would you join your first Temazcal with us? Comment below the country you would like to have a temazcal in.

Iโ€™m Yulia, 33 years old.
I was born in Moscow, aged 17, moved to Germany to study.

๐Ÿ“ I lived and worked in Berlin in the field of contemporary art until COVID changed everything.

๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ฝ In August 2020, I took what was meant to be a short trip to Mexico.

It turned into a life journey. I met incredible people, and my life transformed completely. I moved to this sacred land and began walking the Red Pathโ€”โ€œthe path of thornsโ€โ€”a sacred way of learning from the elements, listening to the elders, and dancing with the Sun in unison with Mother Earth.

It took five years of daily practiceโ€”observing, listening, serving, shedding old layers, and constantly learningโ€”until the time came to plant the seeds.
I completed the Dance to the Four Directions.
Iโ€™ve sat in hundreds of Temazcales and taken part in countless rituals that shaped who I am today. I am forever grateful to each soul who was part of this journey.

I continue to walk this path every dayโ€”by the fire, in both the mundane and the spiritualโ€”serving the light, learning, growing, and sharing through all I do.

Now, the time has come to open a sacred portal: a Temazcal I can share with many of you.
The permission has been givenโ€”by the sacred mountain, by the Sun and the Moon, by the Elements, and by the elders who have guided me along the way.

๐ŸŒฑ The Earthโ€”the land where I feel called to plant this seedโ€”answered with a โ€œyesโ€ yesterday, on July 6th.

I hold the prayer and deep gratitude in my heart, trusting that the right space and piece of land will reveal itselfโ€”a refuge for the Womb of Mother Earth, and for all who feel called to gather by the fire.

๐ŸคWith love, gratitude, and deep respect,
Yuli

A Temazcal is a traditional steam bath, which originated from indigenous peoples in Mesoamerica.

๐Ÿ”ฅTemazcal means โ€œhouse of heatโ€ in Nahuatl and it represents Mother Earthโ€™s womb by its shape.
โ€จItโ€™s a traditional Mesoamerican sweat lodge used for purification and transformation โ€” but far beyond it.

Inside a dome or ippie, the four elements are experienced within four rounds:โ€จHeated volcanic stones (abuelitas) are splashed with herbal water to create sacred steam, while the real fire is kept outside.
Inside the temazcal, we purify our bodies by sweating out toxins, while our minds become free โ€” empty of fears and stuck emotions.
โ€จ๐ŸŒ€This sacred ceremony represents a whole cycle of returning to the womb of the Earthโ€ฆ to be reborn.
Guided by prayer, chants, silence, and the wisdom of natureโ€™s elements: water, fire, earth, air.
โ€จTemazcal is not just detox. Itโ€™s a spiritual rebirth.

It creates harmony within and without, and I wish everyone could experience this beautiful healing ceremony at least once. ๐Ÿค

๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ช The reason I traveled to Peru was to hold space and host a sacred temazcal ceremony at a female retreat of my dear friend

The reason I stayed and traveled Mexico for the last 5 years was to learn and immerse myself into the knowledge of temazcal

The reason I keep on going is to continue @temazcal_nomad

Here is a beautiful poetry by Crying Wind that explains my choices

โ€žTHE WORLD ON A SILVER PLATTER
Iโ€™ll give you the world, my son, the world and even more;
Iโ€™ll give you crime and pollution and poverty and war.
Just look at the beautiful cities, my son, the buildings are so high;
Itโ€™s too bad the smogโ€™s so thick that you canโ€™t see the sky.
And see the superhighways, my son, going every-where,
And see the powerful cars polluting our clean air.
Oh, the wonderful world of science, my son, weโ€™ve made it to the moon

No, 1 donโ€™t think itโ€™s true that weโ€™ll all be blown up
soon.
Isnโ€™t medicine amazing, my son? Now we can nearly
cure cancer.
I wouldnโ€™t worry about famines; someone will find an
answer.
Your father and I arenโ€™t rich, my son, but weโ€™ll give you your heartโ€™s desire;
Itโ€™s the American way to โ€žcharge itโ€œ as the cost of living goes higher.
All the finest education, my sonโ€”learn to read and write.
Equal opportunityโ€”itโ€™s too bad youโ€™re half red and half white.
Youโ€™ll have a war of your own; each generation must have one.
Donโ€™t use alcohol or drugs; ignore those who say theyโ€™re fun.
Itโ€™s too bad thereโ€™s no wilderness left, no wild animals around,
But weโ€™ve killed all the animals and subdivided the ground,
Oh, itโ€™s a wonderful world, and Iโ€™ll give it to you, my son,
And ask but one small thing in return โ€”forgive us for
what weโ€™ve done!โ€œ#peru #sacredvalley #temazcal #temazcalceremony #temazcaldemujeres #womenretreat #femalepower #travelperu #heal

I am a storyteller.

And before I tell you how I ended up in Peru straight from India โ€”
how much joy it was to facilitate, share sacred altar-making and temazcal practices,
to co-create with sisters and friends โ€”

let me tell you something dear to my โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿ”ฅ:

Five years ago, I had neither the slightest idea nor desire to be involved in sweat-lodge work.
Especially not to guide. Not to lead.

I loved what I was doing in the art world (still do).
I wasnโ€™t searching outside of it.

I went to Russian banya almost every week, without thinking twice or attaching spiritual meaning. My mother took me to a banya when she was breastfeeding.
It became a habit. Thatโ€™s it. A common thing.

But this story is about how life works โ€”
the โ€œcoincidencesโ€ that shape us.
Not a plan. Just happening.

In 2020, COVID hit.

On a flight back to Berlin,
I stopped in Amsterdam, I saw a friend heading to Tulum, he invited me to join.
โ€œNot my kind of place,โ€ I thought. I flew home.

But the seed was planted.

A week later, I was boarding to Mexico.

For reasons I still canโ€™t explain,
I was denied entry at the border.
Spent the night in immigration, during heavy COVID,
alone in a room full of men. No food. No water. Full of fear.

8 hours later, I was let in with the words:
โ€œWelcome to Mexico.โ€

I arrived disoriented, lost the connection flight and luggage.
Had my first panic attack.
Booked a hotel inside the airport.
Scrolled IG looking for massages in Tulum โ€” just in case. I found someone. A special person.

Same day I made it to Tulum. Day 1, I met people who became soul family. More than that.
Had my first Temazcal, my first encounter with fire, with the elements, with prayer and plants.

Life changed.

Little did I know I would return to๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ฝ, stay,
travel the desert, experience love, life, death, timetravels, much more..
only 5 years later around theโ˜€๏ธ
@temazcal_nomad is born. Today I celebrate all of unexplainable โ€žcoincidencesโ€œ that led me to where I am and with whom.

The next story will be about how all of this lead to a beautiful women retreat in Peru. ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ช next one in 2026 btw, and please, join us, the big family ๐Ÿ”ฅ ๐ŸŒ•
