One of the things in life I never take for granted is the family I’ve been blessed with and have.

15 years later. This is what I’ve created with @jone_vavaloa . And I’m grateful everyday, that I have a family to call my own.

Never take for granted having a family, having parents alive, having children, having grandparents alive, having a spouse, someone to love, who loves you.

There are days, moments I wish that my children could have their Fijian grandparents around although they have passed on and never got to meet. They are of course with us in spirit and I know they are watching over us from Heaven. May they rest in eternal love. 🤍

Just a little reminder. Life’s too short to wait to wonder and to miss what’s already in front of us. ❤️

8 Reasons why we choose experiences over prioritising giving gifts.

This is just us. Everyone is different. Don’t get me wrong we like giving gifts but we choose to live our lives not expecting them or making it the need to give them to our kids. We have leaned more into prioritising experiences instead.

That is a GIFT that TIME can only BUY!!! ❤️

Our Temo Family Fijian Masi 🇫🇯

Cultural Pride.

One thing for sure is that knowing who you are, where you came from has got to be one of the most important things we have to know about ourselves and our identity.

As parents we are responsible to help our children make sense of cultural identity, teaching them if not the language at least family genealogy and connecting them to their roots.

I strive to enforce that more on my kids especially being half cast myself and only having been brought up with one side of my culture. It’s definitely never too late to learn, which I plan on doing but if we can be better even for our kids they will never loose sight of their cultural identity and will stand tall in knowing who they are, and where they come from which should be something to be proud of.

Fijian style cream buns 😋🇫🇯

Great recipe to follow thanks to Aunty Anita! Will link her YouTube video below in the comments.

Was it exactly the same as the O.G Hot bread shop Fijian style cream bun NO!! But close!! It was nice to make these celebrating Fiji day, have always wanted to try making these.

It was a great first attempt for me, as always with anything you try out for the first time you know what to do and what not to do the next time. 🙏🏼

I definitely added too much Jam 😂😂
but overall the bun was so soft and fluffy and the cream recipe was spot on. Can’t wait to make them again 😋

Started our morning with a strength session only you know will be eating everything under sun the whole weekend 😂😂

Grateful to be married to a Fijian, blessed everyday we are. We ain’t reached 600 followers yet but here’s a teaser 😂😅. Grateful always for all the support we receive already.

Family Talanoa (language) sessions at home 🇫🇯

Honestly I’m so grateful that my husband initiated these, Talanoa language sessions have been awesome. Teaching our kids about their cultural identity is so important and it goes beyond just learning the language.

It definitely all starts at home.

It has been a great learning journey for me too because it’s motivated me to want to learn parts of my multicultural heritage that I don’t know much about even my own cultural languages.

Teach them young they say, learn with them, make mistakes, try again, practice, speak it, live it at home, watch them grow that’s all part of the adventure ❤️🇫🇯

My favourite Fijian 🇫🇯😘

In honour of Fijian language week and keeping the culture alive.

I found these in my archive and I actually took these over 10 years ago of my husband while I was doing a photography class at BYU Hawaii.

And I’m so glad I did. I need to actually print these and frame them.

We love you our favourite Fijian 😘
