Rebinding of Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. Fine binding in vegetable tanned Harmatan ox blood red leather, hand tooled and painted with the facing side portraits of Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy framed by intricate greenery. Original artwork by me, one copy, one of a kind.

5 days in Portugal, August 2026, 40°C outside and a wonderful time in the workshop with Pamela McHutchon ✨

Pamela already has some bookbinding experience and came with a great set of skills but wanted to learn how to work with leather and make her first case leather binding. Watching her tackle every step over the course of our one on one intensive was an absolute joy. She took to the techniques naturally, handled everything with great patience and care, and walked away with a stunning finished piece.

Thank you so much Pamela for the lovely time and the great moments we shared together 😍🙏 I can't wait to see the beauties you create!

Sharing a few moments from the last bookbinding workshop with @nitikamm . We spent nine wonderful days learning how to make various types of leather bindings, to dye and paint leather and to decorate book edges. We even experimented with vegan leather! Nitika already has a solid background in bookbinding but wanted to learn leather work. Our time together was very inspiring and such a great experience overall. Thank you Nitika for coming to Portugal from across the world, for your kindness and for your peaceful presence in the workshop 🤍 by @teo.studio

Bookbinding Workshop with @xia_tattoo !! Last week was very special. I got to meet an artist friend who traveled from the other side of the world to Portugal and spent a week with me learning how to bind books. It was a wonderful experience and the best part of all was to meet a like-minded human who shares the same enthusiasm and passions! Do the thing! EXPERIENCE small businesses, invest in creativity. Art is rebellion, and I couldn’t be happier to invest my time and money in my friend @teo.studio ‘s work. When you buy a book, book a tattoo, get that cute nail art or create new things with your own hands, you become a little more human, and when humans get together to create rather than destroy, magic happens.
I do believe in magic, it’s not in horoscopes or hexes. It is hidden in the little things that are created with love.
