I am deeply honoured to announce that Imago Dei: A Decade of Faces has been selected for exhibition at the 10th Abuja Photo Festival, themed “CONVERGENCE — The Future of Imaging.”

📍 Exhibition Pavilion, by ICC, Abuja
📅 27th – 30th October 2026

For over a decade, photography has been my way of seeing, listening, remembering, and connecting. Imago Dei brings together ten years of portraits and visual stories of native tribes, farmers, artisans, village dwellers, and everyday people, faces and moments that carry stories far beyond the frame.
The title Imago Dei “the image of God” speaks to the inherent dignity and worth found in every human face. At a time when imaging is rapidly evolving through artificial intelligence, digital technologies, and new forms of visual expression, this body of work turns our attention back to something timeless: the human being behind the image.
The works explore the convergence of identity, culture, memory, emotion, tradition, and visual storytelling. Each portrait becomes a meeting point between the past and the future, the personal and the collective, the seen and the unseen.

As the boundaries of imaging continue to expand, Imago Dei asks:
How will we continue to see, honour, and remember one another in the future of imagery?

I am grateful to @abujaphotofest for the opportunity to share this body of work with photographers, artists, creatives, and audiences at the 10th Abuja Photo Festival, and I look forward to connecting with people who see the power of photography not only as an image, but as a vessel for memory, identity, and human connection.

Throughout my years as a portrait photographer, I’ve had the privilege of capturing different personalities, emotions, and stories through my lens. But beyond the portraits, photography has given me something even more meaningful: the opportunity to connect with people.

As someone who has always been introverted, I never imagined that a camera would become one of my favourite ways to meet wonderful people and communicate with them. If you know me well, you’d know that I genuinely enjoy good conversations. Photography has given me the opportunity to have those conversations with hundreds of people, each with a unique story to tell.

I wish I could put a number to all the faces I’ve photographed over the years, but unfortunately, I’ve lost my photography data not once, but twice. The most recent loss was particularly painful.

The first time it happened, I was so devastated that I didn’t photograph anyone or anything for an entire year. So, when it happened again, I feared I might go down that same path. Losing those images felt like losing pieces of my journey.

But this time was different. ❤️

With the love and support of my wife, I found the strength to keep going. Instead of giving up, I chose to start again, meet more people, tell more stories, and create new memories through my lens.

Looking back, I realise that while I may have lost some of my work, I haven’t lost the passion, the experiences, or the connections that photography has given me over the past 11 years.

And now, I’m excited to share a piece of that journey with you!

If you missed my exhibition last year, here’s another opportunity to experience my work. I’ll be exhibiting portraits from my 11-year journey as a photographer at the upcoming Abuja Photo Festival, from October 27th to 30th.

These portraits represent more than just faces. They represent people, emotions, conversations, memories, and a journey that continues to shape who I am.
