Hi, I’m Terri Turner. šŸ§ šŸ¤

I’m a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) through the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP), currently pursuing my doctorate in Sport & Performance Psychology with a specialization in Positive Leadership and Administration, and bringing 20+ years of experience in human performance.

My work sits at the intersection of psychology, neuroscience, and human performance, helping athletes, business leaders, and entrepreneurs understand the connection between how they think, how they respond to pressure, and how they perform.

Because performance isn’t just about talent, knowledge, or how hard you work. It’s also about what happens internally when the stakes are high.

-How you interpret pressure.
-Where your attention goes.
-How you regulate your emotions.
-What happens to your confidence after a mistake.
-And whether you can access the skills and abilities you already possess when it matters most.

The brain plays a powerful role in these moments. Our thought patterns, attentional habits, emotional responses, and learned behaviors all influence how we navigate challenges and respond under pressure.

Through science-informed mental performance strategies, I help high performers build confidence, strengthen focus, regulate emotions, and develop the mental skills to perform more consistently when it matters most.

Whether you’re competing on the field, leading a team, making high-stakes decisions, or building a business, learning to manage your internal world can change how you show up in your external one.

My mission is to help you close the gap between what you’re capable of and what you consistently deliver.

Because you can have the talent, the knowledge, and the ability …but learning to access them under pressure is a skill of its own.

Stronger mind. Higher performance. Greater purpose.

I’m so glad you’re here. šŸ¤ 🫶 by @territurnerperformance

Mind. Muscle. Fuel. šŸ§ šŸ’ŖšŸ”„

Three days in the books for our Soccer Edition clinic … thank you SO much to all the athletes who joined us & for hosting us @vbsportsplex šŸ™. We really had so much fun!

**MIND** 🧠 Real sports psychology work: building confidence, athletic identity, and learning to reset fast instead of carrying a bad play into the next one. By me šŸ™‹ā€ā™€ļø

**MUSCLE** šŸ’Ŗ On-field soccer training and conditioning to put those mental reps into action by @eft_elitefutboltraining

**FUEL** šŸ”„ Sports nutrition education every night at dinner, because performance doesn’t stop at the whistle. By @catalyzt_nutrition

The mind, the body, and how you fuel it aren’t separate…train all three to get the most out of your performance.

Coaches — want this for your team? Let’s talk. Your athletes will walk away with a stronger mind, a sharper game, and the fuel to back it all up. šŸ™Œ

ā€¼ļøIt’s not ā€œThe Shotā€ they fear…let’s break it down…

šŸ‘‰ Athlete: I’m worried about missing the shot.
Me: Okay. You miss it. It happens. Then what?

šŸ‘‰ Athlete: People may talk bad about me.
Me: Is that really what matters? Does their opinion define your worth?

šŸ‘‰ Athlete: No, you’re right. But what about my teammates?
Me: Have you let them down before?

šŸ‘‰ Athlete: Yes, during practice and other games.
Me: And are they still here, supporting you?

šŸ‘‰ Athlete: Yes, they are.
Me: Exactly!

It’s not the shot you fear….it’s the embarrassment and the ā€œwhat-ifsā€ that spiral out of control.

But here’s what to do..

šŸ’Ŗ Face those fears head on. Break them down, and you’ll find clarity. Our brains like clarity, it helps release the grip fear has over us….That’s how you perform under pressure.

Next time you’re facing a challenge, remember…..it’s just a moment.

Embrace it, trust yourself, and keep moving forward.

So…keep your head up & just take the shot… šŸ˜‰ 🫶

Always here supporting you to excel under pressure and perform with purpose… 🫶Let’s go šŸ¤ by @territurnerperformance

ā€œMy kid just isn’t aggressive enough.ā€

I hear this concern from parents in youth sports all the time.

But here’s something worth considering: What looks like a lack of aggression on the field or court isn’t always a lack of desire, toughness, or confidence.

Sometimes, there’s more happening beneath the surface.

🧠 A young athlete may be afraid of making a mistake.

🧠 They may be overthinking instead of reacting instinctively.

🧠 They may be worried about disappointing their coach or parents.

🧠 Their brain may be prioritizing avoiding a mistake over taking action.

When an athlete is focused on not messing up, their attention shifts away from reading the game, trusting their instincts, and committing to the next play.

And the more they hesitate, the harder it can become to play freely.

The solution isn’t always to tell them to ā€œbe more aggressive.ā€

Sometimes, it’s helping them feel confident enough to act, trust their decisions, and stop playing afraid.

Because playing aggressively isn’t just about wanting it more. It’s also about learning to trust yourself under pressure.

That’s where the mental side of performance matters. by @territurnerperformance

One of the most rewarding parts of what I do is watching people begin to believe in themselves differently. šŸ¤

Whether I’m working with an athlete, a business professional, or someone stepping into a new level of responsibility, the work often goes deeper than performance.

It’s about learning to quiet self-doubt, navigate pressure, trust your abilities, and recognize that you are capable of more than you sometimes give yourself credit for.

I love helping people understand the psychology behind how they think, respond, and show up when it matters most. Because sometimes, the biggest shift isn’t learning something new. It’s learning to trust what’s already within you.

I’m grateful for the people who trust me to be part of that process, and I’m proud of the work they put in along the way.

šŸ«¶šŸ¤.

🧠 ✨Doubt isn’t the problem. Unquestioned thoughts are. ā€œI’m not ready.ā€ ā€œI always choke.ā€ ā€œThey’re probably judging me.ā€ Your mind says it, and you treat it like a fact.

Here’s the shift: Notice the thought. Question it. Ask, ā€œIs this true, or is this just familiar?ā€

You don’t have to silence your inner voice. You just have to stop letting it run the show.

Always here with you in the work 🫶

I work with adolescent athletes & young women everyday. Over the years I’ve watched something shift.

Their confidence is lower, and their self-esteem is tied more and more to a screen. Who liked the post. Who didn’t. Who watched the story and said nothing.

Day in and day out, I say the same thing: your worth is not measured by the people you know, and it’s certainty not measured by strangers online.

Here’s the lesson I keep coming back to.

Likes tell you what a moment looked like to people scrolling past it. They tell you nothing about your character, your work ethic, your growth, or what you’re capable of.

So build your confidence on what you control:

→ The work you put in when nobody sees it
→ The grind, day in and day out
→ The way you treat other people
→ The person you’re becoming, not the one you’re performing

Before you post, ask: Who am I posting this for?

And gentlemen, be honest. When you like her posts, are you supporting her as a person, or only her appearance? She can tell the difference. So can every other woman and girl who see your likes on the internet.

Every like is a vote for what gets posted. Vote for the effort, the accomplishments, the person behind the photo.

To the parents, coaches, and everyone who loves a young woman: say it more than once. She needs to hear it from us as often as she sees the opposite online. Trust me. I hear about it daily.

Save this. Send it to a someone who needs to hear it today. šŸ¤ by @territurnerperformance

I used to think being ā€œeasy to be aroundā€ was a strength.

I was the one who laughed a little quieter, wanted it a little less out loud, and made my ambition small enough that no one had to feel anything about it. I called it humility. It wasn’t. It was me managing everyone else’s comfort at the expense of my own performance.

Here’s what I know now, after 20+ years in competitive environments and years of working with athletes, executives, and other performers: the pattern is the same everywhere. High performers don’t lose their edge in one big moment. They lose it in a hundred tiny ones, every time they soften their voice, dim their drive, or apologize for wanting more.

Those are reps, and you’re taking them away from yourself.

So this is your reminder…you don’t have to be smaller for anyone else to feel big…do YOU, authentically 🫶

Save this for the next time you catch yourself doing it, and send it to someone who needs the reminder. šŸ¤šŸ¤šŸ¤ by @territurnerperformance

Mothers are tired of being scared for their daughters. šŸ’”

Tired of the checklist that somehow only makes it to our girls. Cover your drink. Watch your back. Keys in hand. Never be the only female alone with a group of boys. Carry protection. Text me when you’re safe at home.

We don’t even realize we’re doing it anymore. It’s become as routine as packing a lunch. And every time a story like Cornell resurfaces, it hits the same nerve: this isn’t paranoia, it’s pattern recognition.

Most men have never had to live with this background hum of caution. Girls learn early that being female can make us a target, and we carry that into every room.

But here’s what gives me hope…More parents are having the uncomfortable conversations about consent, respect, and what to do when a line is crossed.

Real strength is accountability, and good men are raised, not born….and I’m so proud of my strong friends raising strong men šŸ–¤

So keep protecting your daughters. Keep teaching your sons. Build kids who trust themselves and respect others.

The checklist shouldn’t belong to girls alone.

I’ll always be here teaching our girls to be confident, resilient and strong AF.

I see you, mommas 🫶 šŸ–¤ by @territurnerperformance

You’re not ā€œin your head.ā€ You just care šŸ¤

I’ve worked with so many athletes who replay one missed shot long after the game ends. Who feel the pressure because they’ve put in the work. Who are calm in practice and tight when it counts. I see it in my clients, and as a mom, I see it at home too.

I was that athlete once, and I know how heavy it can feel when you want it badly. That’s not weakness. It just means no one has taught you how to carry it yet.

Mental training is part of the game, and it’s a skill you can build, just like your physical ones. It’s why I do what I do.

If this sounds like you or your athlete, DM me ā€œREADYā€ and let’s get started. šŸ¤

You’ve optimized everything except the one thing that decides how you perform under pressure.

Your mind is a performance system too. It can be trained, measured, and sharpened, just like the rest of you.

Mental performance work isn’t a replacement for the habits you’ve built. It’s what makes them hold when the stakes are high.

Ready to train the part that actually decides the outcome? Link in bio. ✨🧠 by @territurnerperformance

🧠 Neuroplasticity isn’t a buzzword …it’s mechanism. Every time a neural pathway fires, it strengthens. Neurons that fire together, wire together.

That means every spiral you let run unchecked is a rep for spiraling. Catastrophizing under pressure isn’t just a bad moment …it’s reinforcing the wiring that makes the next one easier to fall into.

The reverse is just as true. A regulated nervous system, a rehearsed reset, a trained response to pressure …these aren’t soft skills. They’re structural. You’re building the actual architecture you’ll rely on when it counts.

This is why cold plunges and productivity apps don’t fix performance under pressure …they don’t touch the wiring. Mental performance training does, deliberately and repeatedly, the same way you’d build strength in a gym.

You don’t get the brain you want. You get the brain you build.

Save this for the next time you catch yourself spiraling ….and think about which pathway you’re strengthening. šŸ’« by @territurnerperformance
