A huge thank you to our sponsors for allowing us to bring the Scarecrow Festival back for another year!

Laundrys (pictured here), donated over 150 pumpkins, to ensure everyone had a chance to paint one, Metro donated apple cider and s'mores kits, and Home Hardware makes the armatures and helped with decoration materials this year.

We're grateful to the Municipal Community Grant, overseen by @thecountyfoundation , which allows us to host the circus area, and @experiencepicton and @pictonrecreationcommittee , whose support allows us to host the craft station, apothecary and more!

Events like this have a lot of moving parts and sponsors ensure we can offer a well organized event. We're so grateful that we are able to continue this incredible fall tradition! by @terroratmacaulay

A huge thank you to our volunteers! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿฅฐ

Events like the Scarecrow Festival couldn't happen without volunteers, and we are so grateful that they took time over Thanksgiving weekend to help us bring this event to the community!

To our lovely fortune tellers, @figureyourfortune
& @lfesiak, thank you for your energy and talent. They sat with visitors all day, sharing wisdom and guidance.

Thank you to Mark, Nigel, Tim, and Audrey, who helped with the Apothecary and Fire Pit. Guests enjoyed over 150 s'mores!

Thank you to my parents, who spent the weekend running errands, picking up more apple cider and s'mores items!

And thank you to parents who took time from their own building to help others create their scarecrows! We had a lot of first timers, and it was heartwarming to see everyone working together!

We were also able to support hiring local youth to help with the craft station thanks to the support of the Municipal Community Fund.

Thank you everyone - what an incredible second day for the Scarecrow Festival!

This weekend, we welcomed over 600 visitors and sold out of scarecrow building kits! Our shopping area is empty and we couldn't be more thankful for all the support.

Check out the creativity of this year's builders! Bibbed, messy eaters, pirouetting dancers, cool pioneers, and the happiest of witches surrounded us at the carriage house.

If you love the Scarecrow Festival, keep us in mind for when you have a clothing donation! We'd love your dresses, pants and long-sleeved shirts! We'll be running a donation drop off to start building our reserves soon. by @terroratmacaulay

This week we had some extra special help setting up for the Scarecrow Festival & Terror at Macaulay. Students from @rocpec joined us to spookify the kitchen, officially turning it into our Witch's Apothecary!

We've got some advanced potions on the go, and can't wait to see you this weekend!

We are looking ahead to Thanksgiving Weekend at The County Museums!

Macaulay House will be the backdrop to the Scarecrow Festival this Saturday and Sunday from 11am-4pm. Guests can enjoy the museum during the beauty of fall, see some spooky decorations and partake in community fun. The best part? You can make your own scarecrow! ๐Ÿ‚

In the spirt of Scarecrow Festival, we've shared an image from the Marsden Kemp fonds, a series of photographs taken from the late 1800s to early 1900s across Eastern Ontario. Pictured here is "Children Making a Scarecrow in a Field".

Ameliasburgh Heritage Village, Wellington Heritage Museum and A Path Forward will be open for their regular hours on Saturday, from 1pm-4pm, but please note that these museum sites will be closed on Sunday, October 11th.

Happy Thanksgiving Weekend!๐Ÿฆƒ taken in Macaulay Heritage Park by @terroratmacaulay
