shortly after 9/11 Joan Davidow at Dallas Visual Art Center(later renamed Dallas Contemporary) designated a wall in the gallery for anyone who wanted to bring a piece to the gallery in response to 9/11. So many artists had contacted her and ask if they could bring something. She graciously agreed. I still have this piece. I remember not knowing what to do and all I could think about were those news stories about all those people in those buildings and the tireless efforts of all those rescue teams trying to identify survivors. All I could think about was painting those words that we kept hearing… by @terry_hays

several years ago Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs ask me to come up with designs for the parking meter poles downtown. There was so much street/sidewalk repair going on as well as discussions about complete parking meter replacement it just eventually had to be put on hold…no problem I was compensated for my time and most expenses…no hard feelings. Pulled them out this weekend because they reminded of some things I am trying to do right now…JPMorganChase, Adolphus Hotel, Renaissance Tower, Trammel Crow Center, Old Courthouse, Thanksgiving Square, AT&T, Bank of America Plaza, Comerica Bank Tower, Fountain Place by @terry_hays

my interest in Sailor Jerry tattoos began years ago…the montage of images that covered bodies of sailors was truly amazing…a walking art piece…each image with its own meaning they were a walking self portrait…common image was the eagle that represented bravery, patriotism, resilience… by @terry_hays
