Moments from going west.

What a gift it is to explore our public lands and what a tragedy it would be to lose them. The landscapes of the West are truly grand. They are full of beauty and diversity that simply can’t be put into words.

These places were never intended for privatization or exploitation. With this possibility now on the table, it is crucial to stand up for the lands you love or the ones you dream of visiting one day. Without using our voices, we risk losing access to these places forever, and with that, the biodiversity they hold.

More than ever, we must speak up to keep public lands in public hands.

These landscapes are OURS to share, enjoy, and learn from. Use your voice to help make sure it stays that way 💚

There is no where I love exploring more than our oceans, which is why it feels wrong sharing these photos without touching on the current state of conservation.

This week was a reminder of the breathtaking and resilient ecosystems that lie below our oceans. However, it was also a reminder of everything that is now on the line.

Although there are hopeful signs of persisting life, at times, I couldn’t help but feel like I was swimming through a graveyard. The health of marine biodiversity has decreased due to various pressures, and now we are also losing critical financial and policy support to address this degradation. With this in mind, I want to stress that the effort to sustain these ecosystems cannot slow down. Halting projects for even just a few years risks irreversible damage and the loss of critical species forever. Adequate and ongoing intervention is needed to ensure our oceans remain healthy and diverse.

Now, more than ever, it’s important to get involved, use your voice, and encourage the support of projects working to protect these ecosystems.

We all depend on healthy global environments - we cannot forget that. 🩵

Happy World Oceans Day💙

With our oceans covering over 70% of our planet, we have to protect these vital ecosystems as the pressures they face become increasingly apparent. This year alone more than half of the world’s coral reefs experienced mass bleaching events, leaving these environments and its inhabitants vulnerable to mortality.

Despite covering less than 1% of the sea floor, coral reefs support 25% of our marine life, making these ecosystems a keystone piece of thriving oceans.

Beyond their ecological importance, the ocean’s beauty is found in every corner of our world. We get to enjoy these diverse and unique environments while benefitting from the services they provide us🫶🏼it is necessary to protect them for ourselves and future generations!
