As I think about this week, I can’t help but reflect on exactly what the #missamericaopportunity really means. I’ve learned there are a few facets to achieving and succeeding in your opportunity. It starts with working hard to be the best version of yourself in each aspect of your life. From thinking on your feet, becoming more authentic to yourself, becoming more confident, treating your body with kindness and becoming a mentor for all. I’ve also learned, at the core of the Miss America opportunity is hope. For myself, it was always hope that I could make it to just compete at a local. Hope that I would finally get to a point in my life where I’d love myself enough to compete proudly in a pageant. Hope, that each girl who hears my story knows that she belongs in this organization too. Hope that I will make special education better in this country with Partners Club. The Miss America opportunity has healed a part of me that was broken for so long. This new era will be one where every girl and woman feels welcomed when she chooses to seize her opportunity. Regardless of what happens, I made little Tessa proud and I am so happy to have done it as I represent my home, Oklahoma.

The best day. The best week. The best friends. I am so proud to represent this group of women as the 91st Miss Oklahoma. An organization I longed to be a part of for so long. This year has meant everything to me. I could say so much. My biggest message, is that I’m so eternally grateful. I’m blessed to have had the best board of directors, the best sisters at Miss Oklahoma, the best Miss America class and the best family to share this year with. I am the person I am today because of the Miss Oklahoma organization and everything it taught me. Thank you to the organization that showed me to authentically be myself, to chase big dreams, work hard, and never forget that everything I do is for a purpose greater than myself. To my sponsors, thank you for your kindness and generosity. This year is not possible without you. Oklahoma, thank you for being the best state to represent. Getting to see every county in our state, and learn about the beautiful people in each one is the greatest gift I could be given. To the best group of forever miss Oklahomas, thank you for giving me the most perfect examples of the Miss Oklahoma I hoped to be , but also the forever Miss Oklahoma I will strive to be.
