The best design trends for 2026 and beyond.

Hear me out.

Trends are flocking feeds with ‘do this, oh I would never do that’ etc etc etc. It can be overwhelming.

My advice (if you want it 😂) We all like to get a bit of inspiration but at the core of it all, listen to yourself, what works and fits your home!

Anything you are confident in will automatically filter to everyone else no matter what it looks like! I mean not that it matters AT ALL what other opinions are, but I think we are all guilty of comparing the pair.

Be yourself and the results will be perfect because it’s perfect for you.

I don’t tend to follow trends, of course I get some inspo but I always make sure the design reflects my end goal. I’ll only ever tweak if the end goal doesn’t suit functionality/practicality, but not because insta told me to.

THE END. by @that_house_building

Thought I’d post a bit of info about our pool for anyone that is interested 😂

I knew I didn’t want to have a complete neutral colour palette so I stepped out of my comfort zone and picked checkerboard tiles. I have zero regrets I absolutely adore how it’s turned out. They’re not for everyone, but they’re for me 😂

Pool: @summertime.pools colour is sparkling grey
Tiles: @tiento_tiles colour Terracreta Chamotte and Terracreta Marna layed by @ljx_tiling
Pool fence: @dalyglassco

Special thanks to my darlin husband for allowing me to be a little different with this 🤪

Anyone questions please ask away 😊 by @that_house_building

What our day looked like - Work, play, swim and repeat ⛳️

Space is coming along and we couldn’t feel happier (or luckier)

Fletch said right before his shot (which was his first putt on the green) ‘Dad you owe me 5 bucks if this goes in…’

Cannot believe we’ve been living in our dream property for over a year - mind boggling 🤯

We didn’t think we had finished that much but then looking back on the photos it’s hard to remember what this little farmhouse looked like to begin with!

The first month of moving, Jarrod and I stayed up late, slept on paper thin mattresses but had the best time of our lives! #adrenaline

Back 50+ years our property was a dairy farm and was on several acres. Our ‘front door’ is really a ‘side door’ because the entrance/driveway was in a different spot then it is now on land that is not ours anymore 😆

Part of our house is over 100 years old, and it’s still rocking original Baltic pine floorboards. Although they are old they add such a cool feel to the house (even though you can see through them in some spots 😂)

We wanted to keep the charm of the house plus not spend an arm and a leg - it’s a temporary reno to gets us through to our extension at some point hopefully soon @that_house_building 👀

We’ve painted all internal walls and ceilings even though the video only shows Jarrod painting, I definately chipped in there too 😇, gave the kitchen a gooood scrubbing because it was pretty icky, removed all carpet and opted for rugs, polished the slab underneath the carpet from a previous extension, removed all curtains and added basic sheets and roller blinds, painted the exterior, established a proper front fence, removed lots of old bushes/shrubs/agapanthas 😳, painted the outdoor shed, half pulled down another shed, started our veggie garden (the only proof of me doing something if you can even tell it’s me, flattering I know) and we decided a pool might be a nice addition.

We love what we do, we’ll forever keep adding to the list of things we want to accomplish so if you want to stick around we’ll share more soon 🤪🥰 by @that_house_building
