Director Casey Walker joins Nasty Neal on Without Your Head Horror Podcast to discuss ITHAQUA including a naked man in the freezing cold and reviving Hammer Horror at Frightfest!

Full interview here: https://youtu.be/9F9ofyDDWIw

Described as Lovecraft meets Hammer in the snow, ITHAQUA draws upon Indigenous ties to the Wendigo legend to tell a haunting story of isolation, paranoia, starvation and an ancient presence stalking the Canadian wilderness.

Casey discusses his remarkable 12-year journey to bring ITHAQUA to the screen, its historical fur-trade setting, the influence of folklore and cosmic horror, and the challenges of creating terror in a frozen and unforgiving landscape.

As a brutal winter grips a remote trading outpost, American mercenary Cole Franklin is sent to investigate the mysterious silence surrounding a nearby Indigenous settlement. What he discovers unleashes fear throughout Fort William, where hunger, violence and madness threaten to destroy the isolated community from within.

ITHAQUA stars Luke Hemsworth, Kevin Durand, Craig Lauzon, Leenah Robinson and Michael Pitt.

Official trailer for ITHAQUA from HAMMER HORROR!

As a brutal winter grips the Canadian wilderness and the fur trade begins its collapse, the isolated inhabitants of a remote trading outpost enlist Cole Franklin, an American mercenary haunted by his past, to investigate the silence that has fallen over a nearby Indigenous settlement. What he discovers is a scene of unimaginable terror and an overwhelming sense that something ancient and unnatural still lingers in the wilderness.

As fear spreads back to Fort William, an unseen presence begins to take hold. Paranoia, hunger and violence consume the isolated community, driving neighbor against neighbor as reason gives way to madness. With the fort descending into chaos and survival hanging by a thread, Cole must draw upon his military experience to lead a desperate band of survivors against a force that cannot easily be understood - or escaped.

A haunting tale of isolation, folklore and psychological dread, Ithaqua, a gripping survival horror from director Casey Walker (The Void, In a Violent Nature), whose remarkable twelve-year journey to bring the film to the screen has become as compelling as the story itself. Starring Luke Hemsworth (Westworld, Land of Bad), Kevin Durand (The Naked Gun, Ready or Not 2: Here I Come), Craig Lauzon (Trickster, Beyblade), Leenah Robinson (Revival, 1923) and Michael Pitt (Day of the Fight, Ghost in the Shell).
