Today at 3p is the final show of UNPLUGGED ELECTRIC GUITAR @hollywoodfringe. I don’t have words for what this experience has been for me except … Thank you!!

Sunday June 21 at 3p

May we always do what we love.

***

Over a breakfast conversation, Tom convinces his son, Danny, to give up as a writer. Years later, Danny is given the chance to mentor an artist and is faced with a similar question: does he pass down inspiration, or fear?

The emotionally tender show uses two pivotal, intimate conversations to examine the ways we change when we let go of our dreams. Now playing at Thymele Arts on June 21. Tickets are linked in stories and available at HollywoodFringe.org

TUESDAY JUNE 16 is @thatjacklittle’s birthday and our next UNPLUGGED show! 🤩

It’s a 10p show - only at Fringe and ROCKY HORROR do we get late shows like this! 🥳 If you haven’t seen Jack tear up the stage, please come out and support UNPLUGGED ELECTRIC GUITAR this Tuesday night.

We will have FREE CAKE to make a wish for Jack, this talented actor who - like the character he plays in UNPLUGGED - is bound to fly 🦅

*TOMORROW* is our first preview of UNPLUGGED ELECTRIC GUITAR

This play has been “unplugged” for a decade and I can’t express how grateful I am to my team for bringing this to life!

Come support artists making art … and not doing what the characters in this play are doing! 😆 Few seats left - DM me or visit link in stories

**The first step to writing natural dialogue is to study the voices of those who inspire you.**

Like with all of my vocal studies, the way I create a character starts from a conversation.

@thatjacklittle is an actor I met through the @convention1944-verse this Fall. It’s no over-or-understatement that when Jack joined the cast, we all changed. What a pro. He’s got the “Theater-Man” aesthetic; the, “I’ll do it” and the “sure can,” and try-anthing spirit.

“Unplugged Electric Guitar” started as one full act/play. Since I’m approaching those mentor-years, those mid-life years - not quite old enough to be a veteran but not young enough to be beginning; a working playwright - I am writing a second act; a la “Home Life” to “The Zoo Story.” Jack is one of two actors featured in this act, which takes place years after the first.

Jack and I met at Republic of Pie. I recorded his voice, placing a recorder right in front of him. This is Step One.

Listen to our full chat on Patreon [link in bio.]

To get tickets for Unplugged Electric Guitar at the Hollywood Fringe when they go on sale this Friday May 1 - much of which comes from studying Jack’s voice - check out my stories.

What a fantastic night with this uber-talented cast (looks like IG only lets me tag 5 collaborators 😭) who poured their hearts and gifts into the latest reading of #FortheRecord(s) at #newmusicalsinc ! I learned a lot from everyone, including @elisedewsberry, who (along with MD extraordinaire Jan) assembled this group and produced a powerful performance with just two rehearsals. ❤️👏🔥 taken in New Musicals Inc by @thatjacklittle
