🌻One Year on Bookstagram🌻

It’s been a year since I decided to create my own little space on this app to chat about the books I love and meet other people who also love them. And what a wonderful year it has been!

I have discovered some new god tier books and authors, made some lovely friends, and had a great time yapping (yelling from the roof tops) about it all.

So I thought now would be a good time to reintroduce myself, and tell you all a little bit more about me.

I am so happy you are here 🥰🥂

🌻Saturday Series feature: Shadow Beast Shifters🌻

One of my favourite shifter romance series.

The Shadow Beast Shifters by @jaymineve is such a fun take on the rejected mate trope, and shifter romance.

Mera is such a strong and sassy FMC, and I loved that she didn’t take any slack from her pack, or the shadow beast.

Shadow is the perfect growly and grumpy god, who gets thrown for a loop by Mera, and the found family in this series is absolutely fantastic and I loved that once Mera and Shadow’s story wrapped we got 3 more books for their friends.

If you want a fun paranormal shifter romance with a twist, this series is worth checking out!

🌻My version of two for Tuesday🌻

I wanted to feature some of my favourite and prettiest physical duets (and yes, I know the Agia Sahnta series is not a duet but these first two were just too stunning to leave out).

📕Helfyre and Honey by Mariel Pomeroy (@book_daddy_ )
📙September Doves and Summer Sparrow by @emmerson.hoyt

🌻Ruthless Spare🌻

This is the second book in the Heirmarked Series by @author_miathorn and to say I was excited for Thea and Kane’s story was an understatement. I love an obsessed, devoted but dark and unhinged MMC, and when the FMC is strong enough to stand up to him, and keeping him on his toes, while battling her own demons, even better!!

This store is full of mystery, English mob/crime families, elite college students, trauma and healing, obsession and walking red flags.

If this sounds like your jam, I thoroughly recommend picking up Ruthless Spare. I had such a great time reading this!! ✨

TROPES:
💚Dark romantic suspense
🖤Dark Possessive MMC
💚Broken College girl
🖤Forced Proximity
💚Secret Relationship
🖤Primal Play
💚Touch her & 💀
🖤Trauma & Healing
💚Elite golden girl & crime family heir

🌻Flat Lay Friday🌻

This is the first time I have attempted this trend, and I am pretty happy with how it turned out!

This is a good depiction of my reading taste. Dark, moody, dystopian, fantasy, suspense. All the good things!

🌻And that’s a wrap on September🌻

I was in my dark and moody vibes during September. I wanted haunted houses, lochs, dark academia, faerie plagues…and then I got sick and needed to escape to a small town in Montana. The Eden’s series was the perfect audiobook listen for when my brain felt like mush.

What a month! Bring on October and all the exciting new releases to come!!

How was your reading this month?

🐉Happy Threshing Day Release day to those that celebrate 🐉

I was so excited to see that my preorder from @bookheronz was out for delivery today, and you best believe I ran to the door when it arrived!

It’s time to go back to Basgiath, back to where it all began, before their stories truly began.

🌻start a new book with me🌻

I have been waiting to pick up Half City by @kategoldenauthor till it was closer to the release date for Cursed City, as I knew I would want to dive straight into the next one as soon as I could. This feels like the perfect book to wrap up my dark and moody reading month of September.

What book are you going to pick up next?

🌻Currently Reading🌻

Not going to lie, physical reading time has been low this week as my whole family were taken down by the flu 🤧 🤒(audiobooks for the win).

But I did manage to get through some more of ‘The Exorcism of Faeries’ by @jlvampa which I am loving! Gothic, dark academia, professor TA romance, set in Dublin during the late 90s, with a ‘the Last of Us’ floral like plague (but make it Faerie folklore inspired) terrorising the country. Perfect. Give me 10 more of them right now.

Once I have finished this I am finally going to pick up Half City by @kategoldenauthor before Cursed City comes out at the end of this month.

What have you been reading lately?
